This is a small place with only four rooms just out of the centre of Antigua. It is still very close to the Plaza (about 10 minutes walk). It has large, clean, comfortable rooms with good bathrooms with hot showers and lots of storage. WIFI and breakfast (bread, croissants and good coffee) is included in the rate which is more than reasonable.
Daniel, Elena and team offer all the advise you need, but you also have lot's of space to do as much or as little as you want. They also respond very quickly to enquiry e-mails.
There is a large patio and beautiful garden, which is great for just relaxing. We had a great rest after rushing around madly.
I would recommend this place to anyone travelling to Antigua.

Room Tip: Upstairs room had a great view.

I would recommend Chez Daniel to absolutely anyone traveling to Antigua. The accommodations are unparalleled and we could not have been happier with our stay. From the delicious cappuccino every morning to the luxurious rooms, Chez Daniel is by far the best place to stay in Antigua. The rooms are very big and are maintained like a 5-star hotel. Also, it is amazing this place doesn't cost 10 times more than it does. If you are traveling to Antigua and pass up a chance to stay at Chez Daniel then you are simply missing out on one of the great luxuries of Antigua.

Room Tip: Every room is fantastic.

Chez Daniel was our gateway to Guatemala. Daniel and his staff treated us like family, orienting us to Antigua, then leading us to our very comfortable room. Its simple elegance took us by surprise: luxury linens and bathroom fixtures, huge drawers and closets, a bathroom larger than some hotel rooms. Daniel, it turns out, is one of Guatemala's treasures. He's been documenting Guatemala's history in photographs for more than three decades. Coveted by collectors and institutions such as Stanford University, his images are elegant and rich in detail. The same artistic sensibility he brings to his photography is reflected throughout Chez Daniel. Surfaces, colors and light are special. We loved our time in Guatemala, and staying at Chez Daniel made it all the more special. Daniel was a gracious host in a gorgeous land.

We just returned from an awesome trip to Guatemala where we stayed for a short time at Chez Daniel!! If you're looking for a place that is close to all the action but far enough away so that you can sleep without earplugs and there's still money in wallet when you leave, then this is the place!!!! The rooms are comfy with large beautiful bathrooms, the personnel is friendly, helpful, and bilingual. And, if you're a coffee drinker, you will LOVE the cappuccino that comes with the complimentary brkfst. This place rocks!!!!!

Room Tip: The one one the second floor

My family and I stayed in Antigua for three nights in this hostel and found with a very nice place. We felt like home, the breakfast is great, with good coffee, organge juice, croissants and marmalade. The staff is very friendly, and you might have the chance to cook in the kitchen 'cause the owners are flexible.
Rooms are so big, so clean, so well decorated that you feel it was a good choice.
It's not so close to the main sqauare, but i mean like 4 or 5 streets, not that much. And its really close to the market of artcfrafts, cheap and you might find anytthing you want for souvenirs. It's cheaper than Chichicastengo, the market.
ANd i you go to antigua, you cannot miss Atitlan Lake! ITS A MUST! you wont regret, tbe most beatiuful lake ever.
And if you like culture... you must go to Chichicastengo, the market... you might find it so interesting and sooo colorful.
