“Merced, Antigua”
Reviewed 23 August 2014

Attractive facade while the interior was relatively austere (refreshingly). There is a pay-entry section next to the church that is worth a visit at relatively low cost, although the place could use a little TLC. Includes earth quake time-line information - Antigua has experienced a lot of them.

“You have to see inside.”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

La Merced is a beuatifu and understated wonder. For those who have traveled Europe and seen the churches, please compare. You can really feel the heart of the place if you sit there a bit. A great "working" church.

“Beautiful!”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

This church is beautiful on the inside and out. We stopped by during Mass one evening and didn't stay too long as not to disturb. A must see!

“Love it”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

I love the Merced. I live close to Antigua and we often stop in at the church and ruins. When I was a teen I'd go into the ruins with a coffee and a notebook and spend hours in there writing. If you travel to Antigua, you should definitely see it.
