“it's an arch”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

arco = arch. it's yellow with white trim. you can walk under it, towards it, and away from it.
it's more of a point of interest rather than attraction. if you want to meet someone (and do not want to meet in central park), meet at the arch.

photographically, it's a nice 'frame' for the church beyond. but everyone that has ever been to antigua has this shot.

“Get there early!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

At least when I was there, the clearest view of Volcan Agua are in the morning. And they block off the street on weekends... so better for pictures then.

“Beautiful City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

I loved that I caught this beautiful sight on a weekend - the streets were closed to traffic, so that meant I had picture-perfect views! The street is so full of color and life - you definitely want to spend some time exploring.

“Nice atmosphere on street, not really a big deal.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

Not really sure why this is a noted attraction. It is pretty and the street is developed with tourist focused shops. Charming but a not a terminal destination or big item.

“The main sight of the beautiful city of Antigua”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2014

I visited in May 2014.

I felt very safe in the city compared to Guatemala City. The arch is a superb example of colonial architecture and you can get a great view of the church at one end and the mountains at the other. As discussed by previous revieweres there are shops and restaurants situated here too. A lovely city for walking around whilst enjoying the architecture.
