We loved this hotel. It's close to the central square but far enough to be on que quiet side. The room we had 603 was very nice and comfortable, even though it is near the street and one hears the buses in the early morning. The only issue was the internet not reaching the room and we had to go to the lobby or terrace to access it. Breakfast is great and it's served on the rooftop terrace. If you are there on a sunny day, the view of the volcanoes around Antigua is lovely. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

I stayed in one of the ground floor rooms right off the lobby. Definitely not handicapped accessible as you have to hop on some stepping stones over a pond to get to the room. Breakfast on the rooftop is quite nice and the food is basic and good. Staff was friendly. I had laundry done and it was fast and cheap (could have even been back that day with no extra charge, but I didn't need it that fast). Not sure if they call it a pool in the courtyard but whatever it is suppose to be it is not much bigger than an extra-large bathtub. From the street, like most places in the heart of Antigua, all you see is a door. All-in-all , if you are looking for a nice peaceful, comfy place to stay, this is a great place.

Room Tip: I heard some travelers complaining about street noise (cars, diesels, horns, etc.). I think they we...

The Hotel made the perfect launching off point for our explorations in Antigua (a city we came to love for its charm). The woman and gentlemen at the desk always helped with any of our inquiries and set up a few tours for us. We saw the Coffee tour (great), hiked the Volcano about an hour away (ok....you don't get to see any lava though).

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable with a lot of pillows. We didn't spend a lot of time in the inside sitting area, but it looked nice and a fire was always going in the morning.

Breakfast was great on the upstairs patio. Yes, you can hear traffic, but you are inside the city so that is to be expected. You can see the mountains and volcanoes surrounding you while you eat the tasty food, which is very nice.

One night we made a makeshift dinner with wine, bread, cheese and guacamole (which we created out of a fresh avocado and lime). The hotel provided silverware, a wine opener, glasses and all other utensils we needed.

Overall, it was a great place to stay and relax after a busy day walking around and exploring.

Room Tip: #7 has stepping stones and is very romantic. We didn't stay there but loved our room nonetheles...

Fabulous hotel in a very good area but the main traffic seems to pass by which makes it quite noisy. Breakfast delicious great beds and good wifi. Staff welcoming and terrific. Shame about the noise maybe ear plugs would make it perfect

Situated just a couple blocks from the main square in an older small Spanish hacienda style building. There are more restaurants by the suare than by the inn. Nice small courtyard with very small pool.. There is a small sitting room with a fireplace, but only room comfortably for 4 to 6 people. We had a room up on the roof with access to the roof patio, bar and "restaurant" though our room was still private enough.
The room was very small, too small for my taste. However there did seem to be enough storage for two of us and we found ways to put our bags out of the way. Bedside lighting was not real good for reading, so bring a book light. The bathroom was very small with a shower and variable water temperature and pressure. It worked enough to use and at least there was good shelf space for toiletries.
The staff were charming, helpful and quick to help on requests. The rooftop breakfast was very good and the roof patio was charming and peaceful

The other reviews do a great job of covering all the ground, so I will just note a few things.

Yes, the room was very small, as noted by others. We stayed in #7, the cute room in the back, reachable by the stepping stones over the pond. At night, with the candles and the soft lighting, it was very cozy. What the room lacks in size is made up for by charming architectural elements, very nice linens, and (believe it or not) a wonderful shower. The shower had just the right amount of pressure, and with the shower windows open to the garden area, the whole effect was absolutely lovely. Note that the room is a bit dark during the day (not a lot of natural light), so it is mainly to be enjoyed at night.

Melvyn and Karen at the front desk were extremely helpful. Karen maintained her extraordinarily friendly demeanor even when we must have been driving her crazy with our on again/off again requests for a volcano tour (my stomach was off for a bit and we weren't sure if we could do it or not).

The breakfast on the rooftop terrace was included, and it was very good. The setting was excellent. We sat up there for at least an hour each morning, soaking up the sun while sipping coffee.

Overall, although this place is small, it did not feel cramped to me. The charm and friendly staff made this visit great. And, if you really want some more space, you can go use the pool and gym at Porta Hotel around the corner, which we did once (yes, it is included in the price of the room, and yes, it was very nice).

We stayed three nights at this delightful property. We were met at Guatemala airport as pre-arranged and driven to Antigua. Melvyn on reception met us and immediately made us feel welcome. Room four was spacious, very clean and the bed was high and comfortable with three different pillows per person. I slept so well. Melvyn continued to be helpful with transport to Lake Atitlan, restaurant recommendations, and historical knowledge. Breakfast on the roof top terrace was lovely and the eggs Benedict are naughty and nice! Agustina served our breakfast each day, excused our clumsy Spanish, and has the most beautiful smile and manner. Apparently you can eat a buffet breakfast at the sister hotel across the road but why would you bother? The personal boutique service is what you are paying for. The hotel is a five minute walk from the Central Park which did not pose any problems and we felt safe at all times.
