We stayed at Hotel Casa Cristina for a total of seven days. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The roof terrace is a splendid facility which we enjoyed very much. Some of the rooms are on the small side, and because the corridors are tiled, they can be quite noisy (especially as other travellers walk around early in the mornings to go on tours etc..) The rooms also largely only have windows on to the corridor section and so this means you cannot open windows at night - this would be very noisy. Antigua is a wonderful city, the location of Casa Cristina is perfect (away from the hustle and bustle but not too far!). New Year is a great time to visit this city.

This hotel is an amazing value. The rooms are small, the hotel is quaint but by no means luxurious. But it has an amazing rooftop terrace (I would spend much time up there if I return), it's on a quiet street not far from anywhere in Antigua (a block away from the merced), it's safe (the door is locked, only residents can enter), and has great friendly service. If you want to experience Antigua, put your money into the restaurants and bars and stay here for a great price.

Room Tip: The bottom floor is cheaper, but the rooms are quite small. If you want more than a bed with a coupl...

It was a very basic room but it was clean with a private bath with a hot shower. Perfect location walking distance from all the highlights in Antigua. The hotel is super safe with 24hour staff. At night they have someone who sleeps at the main entrance, it was perfect for those 3:30am shuttles. The owner Rosario was super helpful! We arrived in Guatemala airport and had arranged with her to have a driver pick us up and directly to the hotel. It was a bit expensive $35 but we arrived late and it was a peace of mind. Once I was there she booked really cheap shuttles for us to Lake Atitlan and to the airport with reliable drivers. The best way to communicate with the hotel is by e-mail.

It is difficult to find a good place in Guatemala for around $30. Casa Cristina is a good solution if that is your budget and you want a private room and bathroom in a central location. It is very basic and no frills. Bathroom is outdated and small but clean and hot showers. Bed is not the most comfortable but it is suitable for a night or two. Nothing to rave about here, but it is a reliable budget/value hotel. We booked online and paid our deposit through paypal. When we arrived, the man did not speak English but he understood my limited Spanish and showed us a few rooms before we decided on the first floor room. We needed a place to shower and crash in between transfers so this suited our needs just fine.

It is a small hotel with a bit over 10 rooms. The lady and her daughter spoke very good English and they helped me call other hotels to book my future trips, which I appreciated a lot. The room was large enough and very clean. However, I do not believe there is any real "view" for any room. My room with a "street view" is only with a small window that is about 2 meters above the floor, in which you cannot see anything unless you are a giant. The rooftop terrace is wonderful.

This is such a great spot to start our Guatemala trip. Rosario is the most gracious host. She will give you pointers that will show you the best that La Antigua has to offer. The staff are friendly. Great volcano views from the rooftop deck. We will be back
