We stumbled across this absolute gem and I am so thankful we did. I cant praise nor recommend this hotel enough, and we have stayed in many over the past month and years.
For a start the hotel is decorated with such quirky style that you can't help but be instantly charmed. Groups of items like mini chairs all across the main entry wall, a table of old telephones... on and on! I love it!
Old colonial feel with peaceful inner courtyard, a large kitchen so you can cook if you want. All rooms are adorable and individually styled. Stained glass windows, eclectic antiques in every corner, cute cute cute! You feel like you're staying at a dear old friends house. Each day I would notice something interesting I hadn't seen before. I felt so comfortable walking around this house at any time. I want to live in Posada San Sebastian!
Only a short (2min) stroll from the centre square. A stunning 360deg view of surrounding volcanoes and mountains from the rooftop terrace, we stayed on the top floor end bedroom towards the front of the house and the rooftop terrace is above that room.
Luis the owner is an absolute gem, he took care of us all the time, help with organizing trips, leaving bags behind, best cafes, everything, he even picked us up from The bus station in Guatemaka City one day because the taxi driver he arranged for us got stuck in bad traffic!!! He does all this without being intrusive, he is just a sweetheart. This house has been in his family for generations and you can tell he loves having people in his hotel, which feels more like a home.
The rooms are super clean, all staff are friendly, Clara is a wonder-whizz, everything is immaculate each day in the room, fresh towels, spotless beds and even tidies up bits and pieces you've left out, and she even did a few bits of clothes washing, all came back perfectly folded! we were treated like special family!
The main doors are securely locked, so you always feel safe, although Antigua is safe anyway, as two females
traveling we never felt threatened.
I will be coming back here and would highly urge anyone coming to Antigua to stay.
Made my time in Antigua even more special than I could've hoped for. It's a magical city, topped off by a magical hotel.
Thank you Luis & Clara & staff! Kylie from Australia x

In this charming and lovely hotel you can feel like at home! At least we felt like this! Luis is extremely hospitable and now he is also a very good friend! He is very good professional, very good person, always ready to help and to give good advise on everything!
Then there is Clara. She is taking care of the cleaning and she is doing that extremely well! She is also giving a lot of advise on Antigua and things to do!
The hotel is a boutique of images, saints, antiques, guatemalan fabrics...everything put together with character and style!
The hotel has a reasonable price. Recommended!

Room Tip: Room number 7 is very nice!

This a place I can award with the highest mark without fear of exagerating. Located a few hundred meters from the main square, the house itself is worth spending a night inside, stuffed with antiquities of any kind and absolutely awesome. Talking to Don Luis, the owner, the day after our arrival was like having a good tme with an old friend. Not only can he help you in any need, but also he makes his guests feel at home. Special mention for Clara, the housekeeper, for her incredible kindness. No need to say wifi is included. Recommended to any kind of visitor.

Room Tip: one is closer to the street, but all of them are gems.

We had stayed at El Rustica first but a noisey bar drove us out. We found San Sebastian to be pleasant and a great value. The owner, Luis, is totally helpful and nice. He is a passionate collector so the posada is like staying in a museum. The location is excellent.

Room Tip: All is rooms are large and interesting.
