We stayed in a standard room in the Marmont in June for 2 nights. The room was spacious with good decor & french doors that opened out over the roof terrace. Our bathroom had a great shower but no bath. The roof terrace was small but nice, we tried to order some drinks at 9pm but were told due to noise we couldn't drink on the terrace at this time although other guests were. The breakfast area is very small & it is difficult for more than one guest to get their breakfast at a time. The breakfast was adequate but basic. Although we have no complaint with the Marmont there would be little reason for us to return.

It took us a while to find Marmont mainly because we were relying in our gps. We came via car and managed to snag one of their parking spaces, but we were lucky, other guests got knocked back. The reception is a bit mixed, some staff were quite pleasant, but others were close to hostile (like they were doing you a favor by letting you stay...). However the location is central, the rooms well appointed and the price reasonable. Don't expect a feast for breakfast.

Lovely room, fantastic location and an amazing bed! The hotel is right behind the harbour and were really helpful - we asked for a restaurant recommendation and the place they sent us was fantastic and affordable! Breakfast was fresh and tasty. So overall it was a great experience - I will definitely go back!

I stayed at the Marmont for two nights last weekend. The location could not be better, in the Medieval extension of the Old City outside of the western wall of Diocletian's Palace. The restaurant of the Olly and Bossy hostel as well as Creme de la Creme, one of the best cafes of the city, are in a quiet and sunny courtyard just around the corner from the hotel. there are also many other restaurant options neaby and the Marmontova pedestrian shopping street and the Riva are only minutes away. The rooms are very comfortable and nicely decorated without being kitschy. Shampoo and conditioner, shower gel and body lotion, as well as a hairdryer, were provided in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable with a selection of pillows and windows seem to have been noise protected. There was a large flat-screen TV, but only 10 channels were available, most of them in Croatian. BBC World was the only English-language channel. I wasn't very impressed by the breakfast, which did not have healthy options such as wholewheat bread or low-calories yoghurt but mostly sweet patries and croissants. Altogether the choice was rather limited. The freshly brewed coffee was good and strong, but there was only one type available. Staff were reasonably friendly and helpful.

During our short trip to Croatia we stayed at 2 hotels in Dubrovnik and this one in Split. Our parents had a Superior room and it had a nice view onto the streets of the old city. We had a Standard room and our window was facing a glass wall 1 meter away with the reflection of our window. Because of this the room felt dark and uncomfortable - I find it terrible having to put on electric light in the morning. For the hotel which costs 130/150 euro per night the breakfast was definitely not up to the scale: a tiny stand with a selection of cheese and cold sausage. From eggs: only hard-boiled eggs and cold (!!!) scrambled eggs. The cooked sausages were also ice-cold, and that was all for the "hot" dishes. The location is good, indeed, and the roof terrace is very cozy, but for the price we paid, the breakfast was a huge disappointment. As compared to Radisson and Neptun in Dubrovnik, this hotel was 20% more expensive and so much worse than those 2. Its only strength is the location.

We recently stayed in this hotel in 3 different rooms.
If you take a standard room, chances are you get a tiny window facing a wall 2m further, with little natural light in the room.
On the other hand, the other rooms have a view on the small shopping streets, and can be a bit noisy.
Rooms are modern, with all comfort. Bathroom has a window in matte glass towards the bedroom (encountered this in other hotels in Croatia too).
Rooms not very large, but enough to be comfortable. Bathroom is quite spacious.
Breakfast is simple but nice.
The hotel is located in a small street 2 minutes walk away from the hearth of the old city.
However, there is no parking possibility anywhere near the hotel. Public parking is at least 10-15min walk away (if you want to park longer than 2 hours). Short term parking is 5 min walk.
When it was raining, drops of water fell right onto our table during breakfast (not a lot however). When mentioning this to the staff, they apologised and send us a big basket of fruits and sweets, so we were very pleased with their service.
Free WIFI.
If you do not have a car to look after in Split, this hotel is a very good choice
