Located in the beautiful Diocletian Palace, Hotel Marmont is small, modern and takes advantage of it's picturesque surroundings. Staff are extremely helpful with advice on ferries to the islands and the hotel itself is close to the piers, bus depot and train station.

This is a lovely hotel in most regards but falls short of expectations of an expensive boutique hotel as regards breakfast and friendliness (and compared to similar hotels we stayed in Zagreb and Zadar). The location is excellent and the bedroom was clean, comfortable and furnished in a style and quality to be expected. However, it appears that little thought or attention has been paid to providing a breakfast to match. With the abundance of cheap, beautiful fruit in the local market, there is no excuse for serving long-life pasteurised orange juice rather than freashly squeezed juice. Food was pre-prepared with no individual service: coffee from a thermos which had been sitting some time; lukewarm scrambled egg made somettiome earlier; and a pretty limited range of options. Overall it was poor quality and the impression was the hotel has put no thoight into providing an imaginative breakfast. We would advise people to forego breakfast at the hotel (costing about 10 Euros - a lot for Croatia) and enjoy fresh OJ, cappuccinos and fresh croissant at any of several nearby cafes (and at half the price).
The other criticism is that, while reception were helpful and efficient (including providing us with a guide to show us where their private parkingplaces were for which we were most grateful), we didn't encounter the really friendly reception we found in other Croatian hotels which made us feel really welcome and delighted we had chosen them. Pity, because in other respects this is a good hotel but they really need to start taking breakfast seriously and make it match the quality of the rooms.

This is our 3rd visit to the Marmont Hotel is it has been great every time. The second floor of the main hotel is our favorite location. The rooms are large and comfortable and very contemporary. The free wifi is fast and the staff could not be more charming and helpful. The hotel is in the old town and just a couple of minutes from the harbor or the Diocletian Palace. We are big fans of both Split and of this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a larger room on the 2nd floor

Hotel located in the historical pedestrian area of split, meters away from the main attractions. The Hotel is small but nice and modern, and, above all, quiet !
The room we had was smallish but sufficient, and nicely decorated.
The breakfast was not sophisticated but OK
I would certainly go back to this hotel next time in split

We stayed at the Marmont for five nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The rooms are fairly small (but that's the same for most other hotels in Split) and ours was quite dark, but it was clean and comfortable. Of particular note were the excellent shower and extremely comfortable bed. We also liked the roof top lounge area which was a great place to sit & read or have a beer.

On the down side, the staff could have been friendlier, although they were efficient enough.

The breakfasts were good, although the downstairs eating area is very cramped - better to use the upstairs area even though this tends not be as well stocked with food.

Centrally located, you could not wish for a better location in Split to allow access to the historic town. Despite being in the heart of the town, it is not noisy.

If you are planning to stay in Split I would recommend this hotel. I would also recommend that you visit soon, as I’ve been coming to Split on and off for years and it is very noticeable that it is becoming more & more commercialised and therefore loosing some of its charm. Inevitably as more people are discovering Split prices are going up. Cheap meals & drinks can still be found, but you now have to search them out. Cruise ships have also started to stop at the town regularly, and when they do the place is heaving. Split is still a wonderful place to be, but it’s getting busy!
