Only stayed one night, but managed to enjoy the hotel's convenient location & offerings. We did not have a room pre-booked, but had been researching prices prior to arrival. Tina was nice enough to offer a price match on the lowest quote we saw online, which was a nice gesture.

Pros:
- clean, spacious, modern decor, friendly staff, close to everything, free wi-fi, free breakfast

Cons:
- no elevators, can get noisy at night because of nearby bars & restos

Hard to find, but once you do it's a great location. Close to all major sites. Drove from Zadar so long term cheap parking nearby was hard to find. 6 flights of stairs to 3rd floor was a pain with luggage after walking with it for 15 minutes from the parking spot, and every evening. Rooms were large, modern and well appointed. Wifi didn't work in rooms or hotel at all had to use cafe next door, some ongoing upgrades to rooms in progress may have been the cause. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental not buffet nor hot foods. Quiet room, comfortable bed. Overall for the price not too bad, will be great once they finish and get everything operational. Oh and we only stayed 1 night, in hindsight should have stayed 2 as Split is much nicer than Dubrovnik.

We only had 1 night in Split but wished we had more. The hotel wasn't quite finished renovations, so we were upgraded to a luxury room, and luxury it was. Huge, open room with adjoining large bathroom and big shower, great views and the most comfortable bed you can imagine. There's not enough i can say how fantastic this place was. Staff were very friendly and helpful and even brought breakfast to our room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Split, you would be hard pressed to find anything better!

Room Tip: Only saw luxury room, but was amazing, great views over square.

Stayed here for one night on our way to Korcula. Very good location in the Diocletian Palace. Got an upgrade for free. Baby cot was prepared as we ordered and is of good quality (already had bad ones.....)
Breakfast was served at our room for free!

Split at night feels like Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. It's so perfectly Roman that it doesn't quite feel real. The Palace Suites have a great location on the outside walls of Diocletian's Palace. It's a bit tricky to find so get good directions before you drag your bags through the pedestrian-only area searching for it.

Palace Suites is more like an upmarket pension. The hotel facilities are limited due to its size, but the location and rooms more than make up for any shortcomings. The property manager is extremely helpful in making any site/restaurant recommendations and staff are very welcoming and friendly.

The rooms are stunning and work in wonderfully with the Old Town stone foundations. In my opinion, since I wasn't expecting 5* hotel type services and facilities - only a great room in the heart of the Old Town - I honestly can't fault Palace Suites.

Some reviewers have noted the intrusive noise from the wooden staircase (no lift in the building due to UNESCO regulations) but I didn't notice and we were on the first foor. If this is a concern, perhaps go for a higher floor.

The location is perfectly central, yet quiet (thanks to double window glazing) and the hotel is well fitted out. Would stay here over and over again!

N.B. We stayed in one of the "luxury suites"

My husband and I found this hotel online. We loved it. The rooms are exactly as pictured, and the location is absolutely perfect for exploring Split. It is literally convenient to everything you will want to do. The staff was excellent, and the breakfast surpassed our expectations. I could understand why other reviewers commented on the noisy stairs (they are wood) but we did not have an issue. Stay here!

Room Tip: Stay on the third (fourth in Europe) floor
