Great location, huge suites, comfortable bed, excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff, and very substantial breakfast. I have stayed here before and had onderful experience again. I will be back to this fine hotel every time I visit Split, Croatia!!

This family run hotel seems nice enough.

However their experience in the hotel business is little.

Abive our room 302 they are refurbishing the top floor. For 2 nights in a row we complained and all we got was a sorry forthe 3 nights for 520 euros. Sorry this sorry that. No solutions nothing.

Tip:
1. put airco on 22 and keep windows closed during the night. You will regret it otherwise. Dont forget to close the outside blinds!

2. Ask the staff to being up your suitcase. Dont be bothered about you doing it. Its unacceptable that they dont offer it themselves.

3. 1 or maximum 2 nights is more than enough. Split is small. We went on a hike through Marjan (abolutely worth it!) And half a day exploring the old city centre. You've seen Split soon enough.

4. Have dinner at Fifa or maybe Leut which is next to it. A family run restaurant with normal pricing but excellent food. Anything else is highly overpriced and the quality is poor.

5. Go in the low season or be overrun by tourists.

We had a fabulous stay at Palace Suites.

The location of the hotel cannot be beat: about 200 yards from the Palace Walls, and a 5-10 minute walk to the Ferry Port and Regional Bus Station, and less than 5 minutes to The Riva. The hotel is situated on a main square with a few restaurants and cafes to grab a meal or snack from.

The room was large with a very large and comfortable bed. There was A/C which we only needed when we shut the windows (very sound-proof) at night due to the hotel being located on the square. The Wi-Fi was the fastest that we have had at a hotel, and it was free. Overall, the room was comfortable with plenty of space for my husband and I.

The Breakfast had a wide variety (pastry, bread and jelly, cereal, fresh fruit, deli meat and cheese) and we were always asked if we wanted a fresh made omelet, which were always delicious!

The Service is what set the hotel apart. We were greeted with a smile and taken up to our room where she showed us the basics (how to work the A/C, how to keep the water heater on, etc). Any question we posed to the front desk was answered with a smile and helpful information; including a great tip for dinner (Apetit). The morning service was just as great, always attentive and always smiling. When we were leaving we felt like family, and that they were truly sad to see us leave.

It didn't affect us, but there was no elevator. We were told that they are adding 4 more rooms and when those are complete they will add the elevator. If you have heavy luggage, I'm sure the front desk would be more than happy to assist you in the meantime.

My husband and I are already planning a trip back to the city that we fell in love with, and will definitely stay at Palace Suites again.

We stayed here in March 2014. The hotel has just been renovated - wonderful modern rooms in a historic hotel, just outside the 1000 year old palace walls. Coffee shops and restaurants in the square in front of the hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful - they made our stay here so much more enjoyable. Our room was beautiful, clean and spacious. We were on a 5 week trip and this was definitely our favorite place. Can't wait to return.

We stayed four nights in this hotel. There was NO heat and the room temperature never got above 19. The heated towel bar did not work and my husband had to hang onto the blow dryer plug to keep it plugged in. We complained repeatedly about the heat but we're told it couldn't be fixed because it was a weekend. Bed was great and the extra blankets were welcome but it didn't change the bathroom temperature.

It was in a great location, the cost was very reasonable considering the location and the decor and the staff was very friendly and helpful. All together it was a wonderful experience. It was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at and we do a lot of traveling. The room as beautiful, clean and spacious and the bathroom shower was just amazing!

This hotel in the old city is not accessible by car. We left the car in a 12euro parking lot ten minutes away with the luaguges. But that was just the begining, the room in 3rd floor is without elevator , so you need to carry them in the narrow stairs. The room is small and definitly not worth the price - not even half the price. The morning breakfast is served in anarrow room where the reception is located. It is a maybe 2 stars hotel compare to its assuming 4 stars ... I wonder who allow them this misleading stardoooom.
Hopefully this review will help make the right decision when reserving a room NOT in ...
