“Incredible Experience: Riva Suites, Split”
Reviewed 28 December 2013

Everything about the Riva Suites was amazing: the view, the size and decor of the apartment, the friendliness of the staff; the location right on the bay; the incredible roof-top terrace. It was quiet even though it was exactly where all the action was. We enjoyed every aspect and recommend that you stay if you really want to treat yourself to private luxury.

If you can afford the Riva Suites then treat yourself. Unbelievably nice apartment with modern bathroom, spectacular decore, personal balcony if you choose that suite, fridge, mwave and coffee, tea maker (no stovetop). View of Riva promenade and harbour. Location fantastic to access Riva area, adjacent old city and close to bus station and ferries. Very clean. Very spacious open concept (no separate bedroom) The Manager is very accomodating and courteous but know that you have to make arrangements to meet with him to register and check out because no front desk. One disadvantage. You have to walk up a number of flights of stairs carrying luggage to get to appartment. No elevator (lift).

Josko (the manager) was the most helpful welcoming person anyone could wish for. He spoke impeccable English, arranged our transfer, met us,took us to the apartment, recovered my wife's Kindle, gave us excellent advice and worked his 'magic' to sort out a car rental problem. The apartment is STUNNING in every respect. The views the location the terrace, equipment, lighting and it's decor. Quite some engineering went into the staircase. The terrace is a real luxury with really interesting views towards the Adriatic and along the promenade.A bonus is the aspect which catches the sun for most of the day.Split is a really intersting place to visit and the Coatian people were all welcoming and friendly.I can recommend this appartments without reservation and will certainly return for another short break. Can't finish without thanking and praising Josko once more. Riva Suites were an excellent choice for hubby, myself and Miss 4 and my parents who travelled through Croatia with us. We had the two suites and we had the one with the roof terrace which was excellent and we loved coming back after dinner to sit up and watch the nightly summer concerts held right below. A perfect spot. The two apartments have their own separate entrance doors plus another one which you can lock off so you can interact between the two.

We were met by Josko who although had been great at replying to emails, unfortunately wasn't there to meet us at the allocated time which resulted in us having to phone him...from our mobile which is costly given we are NZ'ers and the cost reverts back to us. He eventually turned up about 45 mins later which was annoying given he had instructed us to wait at the car ferry terminal (we came from Hvar) - it was very hot, we had a 4-year old and also suitcases for 5 people plus sitting in the rental car. Not a great start.

However, we loved the apartments and would definitely stay there again. The only issue was it would be great to put in an overhead shower as your only option was a hand-held whilst sitting in the bath.

Split is great and easy to spend a few days there before, or after, heading out to the Islands. We loved Croatia and couldn't get over how clean everywhere was there and how efficiently timetables ran i.e. planes, car ferry's, etc.

My wife and I stayed in a 2nd floor apartment (note no lift) in August . Fantastic location overlooking the main promenade and within the palace walls.. Apartment was well equipped and the only change we made was to reshuffle the furniture to view the TV better. The local manager called Josco was excellent and helped us in many ways to make our stay very comfortable. We highly recommend this apartment..

The sea view apartment was great! It offered the best of both worlds: a modern apartment with fabulous views, situated within the walls of the 1700 year old Diocletian Palace.
The apartment manager, Josko, kept in touch with us by email in the lead up to our arrival, and kindly offered to organise a driver to meet us at Split airport ( at a cheaper rate than a taxi). Josko then met our taxi at the start of the pedestrian Riva Front, and took us to our apartment.
The walk to the apartment was a bit daunting through the winding streets of the Diocletian Palace- we thought we'd need to leave a trail of breadcrumbs to find our way back out! But it was easy.
We loved the location, so close to bars, shops, restaurants and the waterfront, but not noisy.
We also loved the apartment, so clean and modern, with classy appliances, comfy bed, wifi and those great views!
We've been away from home for 4 weeks now, and this was by far the best place we've stayed at.

It is a nice apartment, great bed, well decorated, cozy, nice bathroom and bath tub, the surprise is the terrace on the second floor. The view is superb, large with 2 stretchers so you can have a wine with your companion enjoying the view.
