This museum has a good display of various traditional costumes and a wealth of information is provided about them. You are also able to climb up a tower that offers fantastic views of Split. Entrance is free with the Split card.

At a price of under £2 for a ticket, this museum is well worth a look. The building is interestingly modern but blends in well with the ancient city walls around it. There are lots of interesting exhibits about the history of the Croatian people, with most information also in English. Although the museum is small we spent at least an hour taking everything in.

The first floor is kind of boring and just shows pottery. The upper floors, however, are more interesting. I especially liked the traditional clothing displays. It was also fairly cheap (10 kn; 5 kn for students). While its not the most exciting museum in the world, it is a cheap and diverting way to escape the midday sun.

The exhibition of traditional clothing, furniture, pipes, ceramics and jewelry is presented beautifully. If you like museums it is interesting.
