“Stands out from the crowd”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

Stopped off for lunch while doing the old town. We were there on a cruise stop. So many restaurants, cafes and bars but this had the nicest ambience and the food was superb. Home made bread, local beers and wines plus a seafood platter second to none. Cant recommend it enough!

“Excelent Food in an Excelent Location”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

We stopped in for dinner on our first night there and enjoyed it so much we went back for a small lunch before heading off to Dubrovnik a couple days later. The staff was really nice and spoke great english. The location is across from the city museum and has an amazing courtyard to sit outside and eat. We'll go back if we ever get a chance to visit Split again.

“Perhaps Expectations Too High”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

My wife and I are fresh back from our dinner at Konoba Korta. The setting, like most in the area, is simply beautiful if you like stone work.

The service started off quite excellent, the waiter seemed to have all kinds of time to explain each dish, how it was prepared, a little history on some of the local plates, etc.

I ordered a beer and my wife ordered a litre of wine. The waiter brought back the beer and a glass of wine. We both thanked him but said that we had ordered a litre of wine and not a glass of wine. He apologized and brought back one of the more expensive bottles of wine without a question. A little forward we thought.

Once we ordered our food, the service went down quite noticeably although very polite throughout the evening he walked by missing our little waves for service, etc. Not what we expected for a restaurant ranked as high as this one.

We had the cheese and lime (very heavy, sinful and delicious) and it is one of those things that you definitely want but regret later. Important to note that this is not the fault of the restaurant as we got what we ordered and it was very good.

My wife had the spaghetti with vegetables and I had the mussels. Both were good but not worthy of the ranking of this restaurant. Perhaps it is simply what we ordered but it didn't meet our expectations, especially with our other experiences at the top ranked restaurants. I'd have to say that of the top five that we ate at, this was # 5. Good but not any higher than # 5.

Anyhow, it was a neat evening and glad we are going through the top 10 in Split.
