Use to stand inside the Palace walls but was removed and now stands near the entrance of the Diocletian's Palace. You will notice that there is oxidization on his toes from visitors rubbing his feet for good luck.

Bronze statue which looks like a wizard was cut into 3 segments to be hidden. Inside there is something hidden. We were told what it was but no spoilers from me!

Lovely place to take photos and a landmark of Split. Also know for the fable that all wishes made while touching Grgur's toe will come true.

This statue is a memorial to Gregory of Nin, it stands an imposing 8.5m high and was erected in 1929 in the Peristyle of Diocletian's Palace. Removed by the Italian occupiers during WWII and relocated outside the town, it was moved to its present position in front of the Golden Gate in 1954.
He is remembered in Croat annals as a fierce supported of the Old Slavonic language and defiance of the 928 edict that proclaimed the use of Lain in all liturgy.

A statue which is huge and is very near the main attraction. Local legend has that if you wish touching the golden toe of the statue your wish will be fulfilled. A unique figure and very photogenic too.
