There are lots of ways to enter the Palace, but I like walking up the east side of the Green Market, through all the vendor stalls selling hats, clothes, luggage and other tourist souvenirs, to enjoy looking at the entire eastern facade of this magnificent edifice. After a few minutes, there it is on your left, the imposing 4 story high East or Silver gate. With its majestic arches and original niches intact, it makes for a grand Roman entrance. You can see all the way down to the West (Iron) Gate as well as the top of Diocletian's Mausoleum and the Bell Tower of Duje Cathedral....so it is a marvelous spot to begin your Palace walk.
