“Take a walk down the harbor”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

Choose a day with good weather and stroll down the sidewalks. There are restaurants around the harbor, push cart stands and cafes. When we were there, there was a PIRATE ship docked that attracted the attention of our son. You can buy tickets and take a trip on board the pirate ship. Meals are provided on the ship. As we had a schedule, we didn't do this, our poor boy was disappointed! I find the stretch down this habour, where the old town borders it, attractive. One side you see the ships and the other side the architecture and old town, the feeling is just wonderful. If you drive to the harbor, take note that parking is scarce and police patrols do take place.

“Beautiful waterfront promenade ”
Reviewed 21 April 2014 via mobile

Where tourists and locals alike come to stroll, see, and be seen. Just as populated with families with children as with young couples, dog lovers, and plenty of eye candy.

“Never tired of enjoying Riva!”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

Well, if your day starts with a walk thru Riva, then you can be sure it will be a great day!! The place is really vibrant, day and night, especially in the summer with some street festivals and local music playing around! Beautiful people, locals and tourists...a mix of language, style and personalities!

“Nice and local!”
Reviewed 14 January 2014 via mobile

Split is starting to become a tourist hot spot but has managed to remain far enough off the radar of the obnoxious packs of tourists that turn a gem into a hell hole.

The Riva Harbor is the main point from which you will orient yourself if in split and will have to walk down it at least 2 or 3 times depending on the length of your stay.

It is lined with great restaurants serving fresh seafood at decent prices. At night during the weekends especially during warmer weather the promenade gathers old and young alike to enjoy the cool breeze, the street performers and for the older crowd the night life.

Split is a pretty safe place and the area around the harbor is very safe as well, but remember to be cautious and keep money and expensive belongings hidden to avoid tempting pick pockets and thieves.

“meeting place-the heart and soul of the city”
Reviewed 30 November 2013

Riva is for us residents living room , especially out of season . I wrote on the topic Bacvice it's also a living room , but there is more recreation zone, where you wear casual or sportswear . This is the " parlor " where we meet with friends , dress up and decorate , especially women , in fashionable . You can even see many old ladies wearing makeup . We have to show the best :) First buy something for lunch at the green market , then we pass the old part , through People's Square to the fish market , see if there's fresh fish , pass Marmont , walk along the waterfront and sit in our cafe . Everyone has their favorite coffee , the waiters know us , know what each of us to drink . We sit for a long time and drinking coffee with friends , discussing anything and everything . Observe passersby , comment on unusual people and events , a little gossip :) ) ) When foreigners come off season , they are surprised when they see so many people in the working hours and ask , " Does anyone here doing ? " Unfortunately , many really do not have a job or have lost it. There are many students and pensioners . " Where did you get the money for a drink if such a situation ? " I do not know the correct answer , it is our magic ... the coffee is always found money :) This is our lifestyle outdoors
