Wonderful to be able to stay in the historic part of town in part of the Diocletian's Palace. No lift but our heavy cases were carried up the two flights of stairs for us.
Staff were very welcoming and we were given free breakfast while we waited for our room. We arrived at 8.30am in the morning!
Room was not large but very comfortable and food was delicious with great service.

If you're looking for a warm welcome in the centre of Split, look no further. We only stayed for one night but this hotel served our needs perfectly. Comfortable room, friendly, helpful service and delicious food. Highly recommended.

We had been told by a friend that it is a privilege to stay here, and we'd agree! Yes how often can you stay in the middle of such history as provided by Diocletian's Palace? Comfortable room (tho not big), very comfortable bed, lovely welcoming, informative and friendly staff who took care of the car parking ( the roads are pretty frantic thereabouts). We enjoyed a delicious dinner there one night, and were very happy with the breakfasts and the coffee. Had advised them in advance that my wife on gluten free diet, and we were impressed to find gluten free food waiting in our room. Not the cheapest accommodation in Split but worth it for the central location, the history, and the friendly Croatian hospitality.

Small hotel in heart of UNESCO world heritage site of Split. Exceptional service with a smile. Ideally located in the Palace of Diocletian. Comfortable rooms, good food, cosy. Ideal base from which to explore the remarkable 'town within a town'

Great location within the centre of town, although extremely difficult to find. The service could be a little better but all in all the hotel was great. Part of some old ruins, this hotel and the rooms are all carved inside the old ruins and somehow managed to create a very unique experience. Highly recommend having a breakfast in the outdoor breakfast area and soaking in the experience and european lifestyle.

It's not every night you get to stay inside the compound of a Roman emperor, so if you are going to Split, you might as well go straight to the top and spring for the Hotel Peristil. Truthfully, given the location, the ambience, the very nice (though small) rooms, and the high quality service, it's a reasonably decent deal. Be sure to ask for a room with a good view; for anyone with any interest in ancient history, there is just nothing like looking out your window at Roman walls and colonnades. Diocletian built this palace compound as his retirement home, and a lot of the original structures are still standing. It is a very living place; along with the touristy shops are people living and working relatively normal lives. Be sure to explore some of the side alleys, where there are some hidden gems of shops, restaurants and bars. It's very rare to experience the ancient world quite like th is.

Room Tip: Definitely get a room with a view into Diocletian's compound

Although not luxurious, this friendly, comfortable hotel is right in the middle of Diocletian's palace. The perfect base for seeing the old city of Split. Very helpful staff. One room actually has a wall which was part of the old palace.
