“Nice place to stay if you don't mind a 10-15 minute walk to the touristy stuff”
Reviewed 27 June 2014 via mobile

Pleasantly surprised at the size of our room. Quick check in, comfy bed, spotless bathroom. Breakfast in a small but bright room. Plenty for us as we aren't big eaters in the morning. 10-15 minute walk to the Riv, Old Town area. Location is good if you don't mind a short walk and we thought it was nice to be out of the crowds. Would stay here again

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning and end of our sailing holiday in Croatia. The rooms were well equipped with good A/C, minibar, widescreen TV and a large bed. The location is quiet and is only 10 mins walk from the old town and the sea front. In particular the staff were extremely helpful to us on both our stays and on our second visit allowed 9 of our sailing friends to deposit their bags at the hotel for a few hours whilst they were waiting for their flights and while they looked around Split. I thoroughly recommend this as a very good value 4 star hotel.

This hotel is located outside of the old city and is about a 10 minutes walk to the seafront, where everything is. But the walk through a pedestrian mall is quite pleasant and safe at night. The hotel has the usual business hotel setup. The room was comfortable and clean. No complaints.

A one night solo stay in April 2014
Location very convenient and only a short walk from the waterfront and Diocletian Palace.
The room I had was beautiful. Very clean and comfortable with modern airy decor. There is a mini bar but expensive. The TV was well tuned. Bathroom is Immaculate, lots of toiletries and has bathtub and shower. No issues with hot water.
Breakfast was superb. There was plenty to choose from. Lots of hot food, breads, hams, cheeses, cereals and yoghurt. Food was well prepared and nicely displayed.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, the hotel itself was excellent and offers value for money.

Very good hotel, clean, good breakfast, friendly staff. There is a supermarket in front of the hotel which is handy and there are ATM's machine nearby. About 10 to 15 min walking to the sea front and the restaurants.

Room Tip: First floor is noisier due the breakfast.

5 nights at the Hotel Globo in Split.

Location:
At the end of a dead end street with a lively and very friendly bar next door.
A 10 minute walk past the Opera House and the shopping centre then via the maze of the Diocletian's Palace where all the Konobas and Bars are located and onto the Riva (seafront promenade).

Staff:
All the staff we met during our stay were brilliant and very helpful and polite and they couldn't do enough for you.

Hotel:
Definitely a good 4 star hotel, clean rooms, nice beds, good furnishings, clean and airy, a good buffet breakfast and helpful staff.
I would definitely stop there again.

Breakfast:
breakfast is buffet style on the first floor, and is of a good quality and was enjoyed by all our party.
included sausage egg, courgette, bacon, jams, pate, cheeses, olives, hams, breads, cereals, teas, coffees, fruit juices etc.

Split.
A wonderful city, we took in the football match between Hadjuc and Istra and the famous Torcida fan base have to be appreciated for their passion, chanting, flaming flares, a great experience.
The Diocletian's Palace is the place to go to find all the restaurants (Konobas) and the little hidden bars.
For the younger crowd find the back packers bar near the golden gate a tiny little bar situated between two streets with a wonderful atmosphere a very friendly staff. great for a good drink, lively atmosphere and tourist information. also try Chops and Grills a great restaurant.
the Riva is a great location for relaxing in a sea front bar whilst watching beautiful Croatian women walk up and down the promenade.
The Luxor bar is located by the cathedral and is nicely decorated but overpriced, definitely avoid.
For the best pizza in town, enter via the golden gate then turn immediately left to experience a truly brilliant Italian pizzeria. Best pizza I have eaten in years and a great host.
enjoy the food, the drinks and the atmosphere of split, this is truly a wonderful city.
Take the ferry as a foot passenger to Brac and visit Supetar and Bol for truly great seafood. it costs pennies. Bol has an amazing sandy beach and good restaurants.
All in all you could spend a month in Split and still not find all the bars and restaurants in the maze of the Diocletian's Palace but have a good go!

Best Experience:
White water rafting down the Cetina river on 3 man rafts....you have to experience this even if you get spat out of the raft like we did, a truly great experience and 2 of our 5 man party were 79 and 69 years old and they haven't stopped laughing yet at seeing us body surfing down the river in the rapids between the rocks after having been spat out of the raft and then climbing back into the raft. We had a great day thanks to out 2 guides who were very professional and all safety gear included wet suits with padding, safety helmets and full insurance.

Bar next door:
We had some wonderful nights for the last drinks in the bar next door and it could definitely get lively with the locals always ready to appreciate 5 drunken singing Englishmen. The bar owner was very welcoming and would always genuinely engage with visitors making them welcome and the music is played loud and the locals sing along to the records but the noise does not penetrate the hotel and the bar tends to close by 12.

A two night stay with family in April 2014

Location: the hotel was a 10 minute walk from the waterfront. However, we looked around at closer hotels and did not find a decent one that was reasonably priced, so this hotel felt like a good option. The was free parking on site. One problem we had was that the hotel was next to a bar which plays very loud music on Friday and Saturday nights. We actually had difficulty sleeping, so may be worth asking for a room at the back of the hotel.

Room: The room itself was beautiful. Very clean and comfortable with modern airy decor. There was a mini bar, free wifi. The TV however did not have very good signal (potentially something that is easily fixed if mentioned to hotel staff).

Bathroom: Immaculate, lots of toiletries and had a bathtub. No issues with hot water.

Breakfast: There was plenty of choice and variety. Lots of hot food, breads, hams, cheeses, cereals and yoghurts. Food was topped up regularly.

Staff: No complaints. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Overall, the hotel itself was beautiful and well priced. The only let down was the bar next door.
