Great small design hotel located within the Palace walls - perfect location to explore the tiny streets of the old city. Our room was on the top floor (#7), very calm and quiet. Nice design with an ancient stone wall, super comfy bed and great bathroom. The staff are excellent and very accomodating. We arrived very early in the morning and they fed us breakfast while our room was being prepared. We had an early flight the next day and they arranged our transport to the airport. We really enjoyed our stay in Split at Hotel Vestibul Palace. The only downside was we could only stay one night!

Dear JuanEsperanza,

Thank You for Your review. It is always a true pleasure to hear hotel "Vestibul Palace" team is excellent and to know hotel "Vestibul Palace" has much more to offer than outstanding location - in the heart of Diocletian's Palace dating back from 3rd century.
Having You arrive very early and offering You breakfast while the room was being prepared as fastest as possible is a part of Vestibul Palace experience, and service.

I agree for Your downside, You should have been staying for more nights and I do hope You will have a chance to come back!

Best regards,
Boris Dusa

I stayed here last year and the hotel is as I remembered. Ace location in the Emperor's palace, friendly efficient staff, good rooms, first rate breakfast, decent supper, free use of an internet laptop.

This November I stayed twice. On my second trip I was given an upgrade to a suite. This was a quite magnificent double height room. One wall was exposed brick and stone work from the ancient palace - interesting. The floor area was bigger than my flat - good for my yoga practice. The bedroom was in an upstairs gallery. The ground floor had a large sitting/desk area, dressing/storage area, bathroom. All well lit, very comfortable.

What a great hotel! We had trouble navigating to the entrance of Diocletian's Palace. When we called from the other side of the palace, the hotel sent a person to guide us in. The room was a bit small, but very nice with a firm comfortable bed. The location is amazing. Our first morning we were seranaded by a male quartet singing Croatian songs in the Vestibul adjacent to our hotel. The breakfast was excellent; weather permitting, we could eat in the courtyard adjacent to the hotel. And the location was spectacular; right in the palace itself. It was a joy to walk the old city in the morning and evening after all of the cruise passengers had returned to their ship. I would recommend this hotel without reservation.

Dear Ms. BeannieC,

Thank You for such a nice review and such a nice overview of the hotel. Since the hotel is in the Diocletian's Palace, pedestrian area, hotel has a service to guide You in the palace and to carry Your luggage to the room, which is a part of the service You get once staying at Vestibul Palace. With only 11 rooms hotel has 6 different room categories along with different rates making them all unique experience and story for itself .

Thank You also for recommending hotel "Vestibul Palace".

Best regards,

Tasteful design hotel in Diocletian's Palace. I loved the contrast with the bustling, ancient streets - the way back to the hotel takes you through the Peristil and Vestibule into a lovely old square, and when you step back into the hotel it is quiet and calm with muted colours. My room was extremely comfortable, with all the conveniences you would expect of a hotel of this standard. The staff are very helpful and friendly and made some good recommendations for restaurants. Breakfast is excellent.

But the best thing about this hotel is the central location - one of my windows was literally in the Vestibule, so the cathedral, Peristil, Temple of Jupiter etc. are just seconds away. The waterfront is just down the steps and through the palace, and it is very close to the ferries and bus station (much appreciated if you are taking an early bus to Mostar).

If you arrive at night, I suggest calling the hotel for directions as it is a little difficult to find the first time!

Dear TravelTaavi,

Thank You for such a tasteful review. It is a truth once You get from Peristil, main square of the Diocletian's Palace, to Vestibul, former courtyard of the Emperor, where the hotel is. Being located in the area reserved only for the gods, it is pedestrian area and therefore hotel staff members help You get from the parking lot (50 meters distanced) to the hotel, hidden in the walls of the Palace. I am sorry You did not call the hotel in order to lead You inside the palace and help You.
Once again, thank You for nice words and for staying at hotel "Vestibul Palace".

All the best,
Boris Dusa

This is very nicely positioned within the walls of the Palace. It is a very small (7 rooms) boutique hotel with lovely staff, very helpful and parking (separate location). The rooms a clean, well furnished and comfortable and you a woken in the morning to a Capella group serenading the morning.

The hotel is indeed pretty difficult to find but just go straight to Cafe Luxor opposite the cathedral and they'll sort you out! The receptionist and staff member who looked after me on arrival at Vestibule were absolutely lovely with good suggestions for restaurants etc. The villa annexe was also very nice to look at but my room had a bizarre layout with the main light being round a corner in front of the wardrobe - it made it very dark on a stormy day! My main issue was feeling pretty isolated, though - the hotel claimed there would be someone on reception in the villa but I was in most of the day (because of the rain) and didn't see anyone to ask for hot water, bar drinks etc. The lights were all off downstairs and I felt like the only person there (although I know there were other guests). Luckily you are able to eat breakfast in the main hotel, which is much more welcoming. All in all a nice place but I felt disappointed with my exoerience for the price I paid - would really advise pushing for a room in the main hotel if you are travelling on your own.

Room Tip: Go for the main hotel if you want to feel part of things!

This handsome annex to Hotel Vestibul rightly deserves its high rating. Ideally situated in the Diocletian Palace, but set off in a tranquil square away from the crowds, it is both charming and peaceful. The bath and rooms are modern and pristine with luxury bath essentials, quality bed linens and flat screen TV(s). The lovely little entry landing connects a breakfast area with an adjacent covered stone terrace, where I had coffee in the morning. The service was exceptional - from the cold beverage I requested upon check-in (that was in my room when this tired and thirsty traveller arrived), to the wonderful desk clerk who took my bags and I to the bus station when it was time to leave. A great two night stay that I cannot recommend enough!

Room Tip: Top floor has a quiet, romantic, bedroom loft that's great for couples. There is an interesting...
