There is nothing like waking up in the morning and peering out the window to see Diocletian's vestibule right there! The room was exquisite, with all of the amenities one would expect. An added touch was the delicious fruit dish, much appreciated after a long day of travel. The staff could not do enough to make our stay more pleasurable. This is a special place.

This place looked much better on the photos than in reality. It needs some refurbishment if it is to be sold at these prices. Staff is very nice and polite but not extremely knowledgeable. At times they seem very confused. All in all, still good, but expected more for the price.

The hotel is right at the heart of Diocletian's palace, an ideal situation to visit Split. All the sites are in easy walking distance. We arrived by car and, with difficulty, found a parking spot in the public car park on the quayside close to the Bronze Gate of the palace. Then while my wife sat in the car loaded with our luggage I found the hotel on foot. Immediately a porter was sent to collect the luggage and to park the car in the hotel's secure park. (When we left it was the same procedure in reverse). Everything about the hotel was as we wished - first class service with a smile from all the staff, a delightful room (one wall was Roman!), and completely peaceful. Breakfast was up to the high standard of everything about the hotel. The first night we dined in the hotel's Diocles Restaurant at a table outside in the courtyard - again it was just as we hoped - good food (fish), good white wine and attentive, but not overwhelming, service.

We stayed at the Vestibul Palace on the 9th May and 17th May and our stay was such a pleasure and memorable experience. We came to think of the staff as friends during our stay and cannot praise them highly enough. They were very helpful and took the time to talk to us about the local customs and history. The staff were very obliging and nothing was too much trouble. Drinks and dinner in the courtyard with tenors singing in the Vestibul is a memory we will have for the rest of our lives. We regard our stay at the Vestibul Palace as one of the highlights of our trip to Croatia and we look forward to staying there again next time we holiday in Croatia which we hope will be soon.

Room Tip: All rooms are good.

Me and my husband spent a night here last febbruary. We stayed in and anex part of the hotel. This was not a problem at all. The annex part has a great location in the Diocletian palace. I think they have just 4 rooms there. The room was small but had everything we needed. The bathroom was nice, clean and spacious. The staff was kind and helpfulls. The breakfast was somewhat simple but sufficent.
