First of all this is not a 5* hotel. The staff we unhelpful well apart from one member the location could not be any worse if you were in bagdhad. The room was noisey and the bathroom door handle fell off. I would not reccomend this to my worst enemy. Oh and it is a rip off!!!!!!!

The hotel is nice, but a bit far from the city center. The room was nice as well.

However, when we were leaving the hotel, we asked if they could hold on to our luggage until our boat was leaving in a few hours. We gave our luggage to the "luggage-man", and got a receipt so we could claim our luggage later. When we got back, our luggage was gone. They told us it was "stolen" by some other guests, and told us these guests had been drunk and rude (?). Apparently, what really happened was that the hotel had wrongfully put out luggage in the taxi of these other guests. They tried to track the guests down for us, but with no luck. They made us wait in the reception for 6 hours, so we missed our boat. We were starving, so we asked for something to eat, and they pointed us to their very nice exclusice (pricey!) restaurant. No discount, no free food, nothing.

After the hotel finally gave up tracking the guests down, our final bus to the boat had left. We asked for a pre-paid taxi, but the hotel was not willing to pay for our transport (it was a 15 minute ride with a cab). However, they called a pirat-taxi who could drive us for a little less money than an ordinary taxi (seriously?? This is supposed to be a 5-star hotel).

After 6 days we were able to track the guests down (by ourselves), and got our luggage back. It ruined the holiday, we hade no clothes, missing medicines, no contact lenses.

Basically:
The hotel did not take any responsibility for loosing our luggage. They lied to our faces, telling us the luggage was stolen, when in reality the hotel had loaded all our luggage into a cab belonging to some other guests. We got no compensation for the lost luggage, for the 6 hours we had to wait in the reception, for the boat we missed (and on top of this, our travel insurance didn't cover it because the luggage was not "stolen" when the hotel had made a mistake).

Horrible service. The hotel LOOKS like a 5-star hotel, but with this service I would classify it as barely a 2-star hotel.

Its a 15 minute walk along a busy but horrible main road to get to this hotel. Our room overlooked the busy street and even w the windows closed it was noisy. Staff were surly at breakfast and the blonde guy at the pool had so much attitude it was a wonder he could bring himself to hand us towels at all. And the pool is literally in the basement so it's hardly appealing. Definitely wouldn't stay again - overpriced and middle of nowhere.

The Atrium is new and luckily the pool and spa had opened by the time we arrived. The pool is small but all the other facilities were good. Sadly didn't open until 10am but did stay open until 9pm. Reception staff not 5 star but all others were. Our rooms were modern and stylish and ours had a balcony which was lovely. Had to request robes but delivered promptly by smiling housekeeper. Average dinner but plentiful breakfast catering for every taste. Big minus not being in the centre of Split near harbour etc. However there is no real WOW factor and didn't feel like 5 Star but good 4 star. Would probably not recommend due to location

The good: nice, clean rooms, with everything modern and well maintained (a rarity on our Croatian road trip). Free internet and breakfast buffet (another rarity).

The bad: it's located pretty far from the old center, requiring a pretty long walk. They also charged me a surprisingly high amount (I want to say 15 EUR/day, but don't quote me on that) for parking in the attached garage. I really feel like this (and the tourism tax) are hidden fees they keep off their advertised (on Expedia) rates in order to appear more cheap than they actually are. In fairness to them, they didn't list free parking on their Expedia listing, but the amount they charge just seems excessive, especially given their rate and location.

I don't get it, how hard is it to be nice to people when they come into the hotel. You're not paying me to stay, Im paying you! When we arrived - it was surreal. The hotel will NEVER get a recommendation from me. Spilt however was a delight.

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night at the start of July. While the hotel reception area and bar were very nice, i found the restaurant and hotel rooms very drab and dated (especially for a new hotel!). And i definitely didnt think that it was a '5 Star Hotel' or good value for the price paid. there is a lot better value to be had in Split
