This is so well preserved thanks to the fact it was used to by the people as a refuse tip for their rubbish

Very interesting seeing and hearing out the history of this underground palace and the architecture. A must visit

It was really fascinating to walk in the place that exists more than 1700 years. This place is also a nice escape from the sun. The only thing we didn't like were small shops inside that ancient building.

I didn't have a tour guide or audio guide, so maybe my experience would have been greatly improved with those. I'd skip this though unless you're allowed to walk through for free.

Subterranean parts of the Diocletian Palace, with its valuted barrel ceilings, have been converted to tourist shops, selling mementoes and all manner of fascinating bric a brac. One enters from street level on the harbour side and exits by stairs to the peristyle central courtyard.
