Make sure you walk to the main church fortress and go up to the roof! Stunning views. Drop by the vineyard and olive grove. Wine is full bodied and fruity.

We visited as part of the 3 island tour and were given only 30 minutes ashore! This clearly gives no time to investigate the history and beauty of the island. The locals were very friendly in the short time we were there. It would be unfair to mark down due the limit of time.

We were here just for an hour as a part of our cruises on the island, but we managed to visit the old fortified church which is one of a kind. Also have a look down in one out of two city centers on the island. Its worth the visit, but not for more then a couple of hours. Interesting stories about the citiy and how it was built and kept.

Day trip from Dubrovnik with Jadrolinija ferry. Went here for hiking, but the trails were in a bad condition at some places and we saw a snake (not the poisonous one this time), so we ended up just walking the paved roads from town to town. The routes to beaches outside the towns were also in bad condition so we could not try them. There are good restaurants in both towns.

Stayed for 5 days at hotel sipan which has an ATM. Lovely hotel with comfortable clean rooms and friendly helpful staff.Sipanska Luka is a harbour with 4 restaurants and 2 bars which get their business from the hotel but mainly from the island hopping yachts that moor at night. Great place for a total switch off holiday. It is possible to hire bikes, go walking and go sea kayaking for the more energetic and there is a diving centre. The beach is pebble/sand a 5 minute walk from the hotel and you swim in clear blue water.

You can travel from Dubrovnik to Sipanska Luka daily via the G&V line ferry or by the more frequent Jadrolinija ferries to Sudurad (the other port) via the other 2 Islands (lopud and kolocep) take the 10 minute bus to Sipanska Luka which terminates by the hotel. Sudurad has it's own restaurants and beaches which we didn't try but we did walk from Sudurad to Sipanska.
An idyllic location which we will visit again.
If staying in Sudurad suggest Hotel Bosica which has swimming pool and reclining seats on its own beach.
