“Really nice and clean hotel”
Reviewed 18 June 2013

It is just a few minutes outside the old town on the bus and the bus stop is just outside the door which is great. It is one of the few hotels where the air conditioning is easy to use and actually works!! The only slight negative is that the rooms are quite small and not a lot of space to fit the suitcase.....

I went with my girlfriend to Croatia for the first time and i must say i am glad i booked a hotel. As i work for quite a large online reservation site and i know the dangers of sometimes booking apartments. eg, can not get the keys, wrong place, not what it seems so going with this place was great.

Bus stop to old town right out the front for 15 kuna per person (need exact money) and opposite main port where you can organize excursions to all the different islands. Also a walk from a large supermarket and Bust station.

All in all great location for the money and would stay again.

Room Tip: When i went the fitness centre and swimming pool were out of service but i can not imagine them bein...

If you want comfy beds then don't stay here. The pillows were not very comfortable. Beds pushed together with gap down the middle. I would not have wanted to be too tall as the beds were only doubles.
No tea or coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast okay. Service at restaurant was slow.
Would not stay again considering there are more options in Dubrovnik.

Petka was a nice, comfortable hotel. The rooms were clean and neat, and the view was GREAT. The staff spoke English well and were helpful. Parking was a challenge!
The breakfast was excellent.
Overall, an excellent value.

I stayed here for three days and on everyday it rained so I was forced to stay in the room for long period of time.

The room was quite bright with a large window overlooking the mountain. The room was quiet and everything functioned well including the heating and hot shower. There was a working desk and plenty of power outlets. There was ample storage space with two wardrobes. The breakfast was good but not as extensive as other places I had visited. I found one staff member to be very helpful.

On the poor side, the internet was very slow and the bed seemed shorter than normal in length as I often found my feet often over the edge (I'm 176cm so not tall). It may have been deliberate as there was minimal space between the bed and desk. The room was a bit cluttered with not too much space around the bed and desk.

Small hotel, worth the money, clean, friendly staff but they should improve on their English as lot of international travelers visit Dubrovnik. I was staying for second time. Had stayed in 2003 or 2004. Has changed a lot. Had met the owner during first visit. Very entertaining gentleman offering Cuban Cigars to everyone he met. Missed him this time.

In April 2012, I was on a dreadful SAGA holiday in an awful down-market holiday camp type Iberostar hotel in Cavtat; an dreadful experience from which I am still awaiting recovery enough to report. I moved to the hotel Petka, a hotel in which I had always wanted to stay. A very reasonable price, which SAGA paid, with air con and a lovely view of the commercial river port of Dubrovnik from my balcony. I could see ferries and cruise liners coming and going, and met many passengers (of many nationalities) as they travelled by bus into Dubrovnik. Nearby a supermarket, and a bus stop across the road to Dubrovnik, and in the 'working town' of Gruz, which is where locals, including my Croatian friends who live nearby, go to shop. A sultan of somewhere exotic had parked his two massive boats in the harbour: one for him and his family and the other for his staff, and his medical staff were staying at the Petka: lovely chaps, and a good craic! Breakfast a bit meagre but ample for me, but the restaurant downstairs has always been one of my favourites in this neck of the woods of Croatia - a country I know very well, but not quite as upmarket as it used to be, but it's reasonably priced and the staff are lovely. I would love to go back, but the prices online seem much pricier than those on their tarriff in April 2012. However, Jet2 is flying to Dubrovnik wef May 2013, so will do my utmost to return to this gem.

Room Tip: Pay a tad extra for the front with a balcony and view of what's going on: ferries, cruise ships...
