“Charming staff and excellent accommodation”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

Everything was just right for us. Quiet hotel in striking distance of the Old Town of Dubrovnik. Tastefully furnished and decorated with plenty of old world charm. Deni (Jenny on reception) is a mine of information and extremely helpful. Breakfasts are wonderful. Charming country, people, region, hotel, staff.....what more could we ask for?
I think we will be returning. Very special!

This Hotel was the perfect retreat after a busy day in the Old Town. A short bus ride away no6 stopped outside on return journey. Lovely pool area which we had to ourselves most days. Staff Very helpful and polite and offered advice on where to go and also valued your privacy. Our room was very big with lovely views on both aspects (the bay and the pool). Everywhere was spotlessly clean.lovely bathroom with large bath and shower and also a separate walk in shower. On our first morning there were some workmen at the pool bar so the hotel arranged a complimentary speedboat trip to the Elaphite Islands for the day which was very special. Enjoyable week in a special hotel that felt like a private villa with staff .

Room Tip: Room no10 is one of the best in the hotel . With views of the courtyard and Bay at the front and the...

The last three reviews all had the word "perfect" in the title, so I thought it was time for some variation. Although "perfect" does cover it quite accurately. Like everyone else, we loved the setting, the top-notch staff, the accommodation, the views across the bay at the hills and cruise ships from the wonderful bar/lounge where we sat each of our four nights. Mostly we walked into town -- maybe 25 minutes at a relaxed pace, with some great vistas along the way as you get close the walled city -- although a few times we took the famous number 6 Libertas bus for a little over two US dollars -- do NOT let the distance from the old town discourage you from staying here, because for most people it will not be a factor. In fact, we thought it was an advantage to be removed from the hectic bustle of the tourist district. Breakfast was very good and will negate the need for lunch. You do have the feeling of staying at a private estate with only 13 rooms available. You really do not run into other guests very often. The room had every amenity a guest could want. The only caution I could give is that if you are tall (as I am at 6'4"), it is best not to stay on the top floor with the lower ceiling, because you will either walk around gorilla-style or sustain a lot of head-bumps. I would recommend that anyone over six feet tall avoid the top floor. But that's a pretty minor downside for a place that will enhance your stay in the wonderful city of Dubrovnik. We loved this place, and if we are ever back in Dubrovnik, it is where we will stay.

Spent a week here in late May, and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is on the waterfront on the opposite side of the old harbour facing the port of Gruz where the liners and ferries dock - apart from the great location, there's a nice associated benefit in that you can see when the big liners are in (and disgorging their passengers for the tours of Dubrovnik) and can avoid going into the old town when it's really heaving with tourists!
The hotel is situated within its own walled grounds so privacy and seclusion are guaranteed. We took all of our delicious meals (bar one dinner when it rained) outside in the courtyard dining area; and snacks by the pool at the back of the hotel.
The staff were all extremely competent and helpful (all spoke excellent English), and carried out their duties discreetly but efficiently.
The hotel is small but well appointed, and our room (at the back, overlooking the pool) was very comfortable.
This is definitely a hotel to be recommended if you're visiting Dubrovnik.

The Kazbek is an amazing hotel. The ground are beautiful, the food is delicious, and the pool is amazing. The staff was incredible and very accomodating. The bus stops right outside of the hotel so getting to and from the Old Town was very easy. I would definetly stay here again and highly recommend it.

We've just returned after a week in this wonderful, small hotel. It is a beautiful old building, overlooking the harbour, with only 13 bedrooms. The friendly staff could not have done more to make us feel like valued guests. The location is perfect - a short bus ride away from the bustle of the old town, and just a short walk from the beautiful Lapad coast. I hope to return one day.

My husband and I stayed here for our first stop on our honeymoon in Croatia. It was the perfect hotel for complete relaxation, especially after one of the most hectic weeks of my life! We arrived in the late afternoon after 12 hours or so of flights/layovers. We were immediately checked into our room and were offered various dinner recommendations. The room was a bit small, which is expected in Europe, but very clean with a nice bathroom and view of the Harbor.

The next day we decided to just relax by the pool with the intention of going off to explore Dubrovnik on the following days. The pool setup was so wonderful and relaxing that we ended up spending every day there and heading into the city every night, which was apparently a good strategy as the city empties out in the evening when all the cruise ship passengers must return to the ships. The pool a perfect little oasis with very few other people each day, mostly couples. Service was very good and the front desk was extremely helpful. Breakfast everyday was substantial; my only complaint would be the wasps that pester you whilst eating, but I soon learned that goes with the territory in Croatia. Great stay all around.
