This hotel is more a 5star hotel than 4star. Perfect friendly service. Rooms are great, swimmingpool is very good. We had breakfast en dinner always outside, simply great.
This is our second Valamar Hotel and we know now that when we go back to Croatia we will take a Valamar Hotel again.

This hotel has excellent facilities and was exceptionally clean and modern with impressive grounds. The pool was lovely with plenty of sun loungers. The omelettes were well worth queuing for, however, I do think the staff generally seemed unhappy in their work, and I did feel at times that I was a bit of a hindrance. My only criticism of the hotel would be that they charged for wifi (which was a waste of time and money as the connection speed was so slow), despite confirming in an email before our departure that it was free. I was also surprised that they charged for fresh orange juice at breakfast, despite oranges being at everyone’s disposal. Needless to say, there was no one queuing for the orange juice.

The location, I thought, was very good. Just a 15 minute walk to the bars and restaurants and beaches, though the beaches were just pebbles. The food generally was of high standard and not too expensive. The No. 6 bus was literally round the corner and run frequently into Dubrovnik, a 15 minute journey, until late at night. The old town is amazing, and a walk round the City Walls is a must. You can buy a ticket from the hotel for entrance to the Walls, 5 museums, 2 galleries, and up to 20 bus rides, depending on if you buy a 1 day, 3 days or 7 days pass. The museums weren’t anything to write home about but it was well worth the money for the bus trips alone.

Dubrovnik itself was beautiful with stunning scenery and coastline. With a low crime rate, it feels safe to walk around at night, and is definitely one of my favourite holiday destinations. I would recommend this hotel if you don’t need Internet access.

Dear Guests,
Many thanks for rating Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik hotel as „High Standard“ hotel and for recommending us ! Sorry about the Wi Fi inadequacies. Since we had many comments from our guests regarding this facility as of 1. September we have introduced wireless Internet system throughout the hotel and this facility is offered to the guests free of charge. With the new system the speed has also been improved.
We are sorry that our staff came across as unhappy in their work. Every year our company researches staff satisfaction in an anonymous survey and the results this year are very good. Most of our staff have highly rated their job satisfaction and the work environment. There can, of course, be exceptions, but we are inclined to think that in such cases it is more of a cultural issue or even severe conditions under which our staff have been working in the past three weeks. As you know we had almost unbearable heath wave with severe temperatures during the day and night. Not that this can be an excuse for any lack of service provided to our guests.

Loved Valamar Lacroma. Billed as a 4 star but really a 5 star. Evening meal (buffet) and buffet breakfast were excellent, so much to choose from. Beds very comfortable, pillows soft and comfortable, excellent bathroom. Also excellent swimming pool and sun lounges. Bus to dubrovnik outside on the street regularly comes every 10 minutes for only 20 kunas each, takes approx. 15 minutes. Highly recommend.

My housband and I were at this hotel for 10 days this month. There were a wonderful holliday for us. because I am pregnant we wanted to have a relaxing holliday and so we had. The room was big and very clean, with sea view, we enjoy the pool and beach from President Hotel. We had half board and we recomand it. The staff was very kind and try to respond to all your questions. The only think that was a little bit difficult was to travel from hotel to the old town, because the bus was crowded and the people very rude (was not important for they that I am pregnant... an English man hit my belly and told me that he was first there...). But if you want to relax don't hesitate to stay at Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik and take a massage :)

We would highly recommend the Valamar Lacroma. Large, clean and comfortable rooms. Spectacular views and relaxing pool area with complimentary towel service and modern loungers with visor. Regular bus.
Forgot to submit the questionnaire at reception, so will have to post my criticisms on here.
Firstly, the spa is not as relaxing as it could be with too much traffic passing through and noise from the indoor pool. The top class massage from Zeljko was out of this world. However, the facial was the worst I've ever received, left for twenty minutes with mask on, therapists hands smelled of cigarettes, cold compresses etc. Avoid.
Secondly, a courtesy room for guests who check out would have been appreciated, the shower in changing room is not adequate.
Nonetheless, this hotel will be the one I recommend to anyone who mentions going to the Dubrovnik area.

Sincere thanks for recommending Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik hotel and for highlighting some of our extra features and services. Many thanks on your compliments to Željko and his massage in Ragusa Spa and many thanks for highlighting the problems with your facial treatment. We are really very sorry that we were not able to react at the time and somehow compensate for the unfitting facial treatment or offer services of another beautician to make your facial treatment enjoyable and relaxing. Please be assured we have sorted this issue with the staff member involved and the Ragusa Spa Manger Ratko has additionally briefed his team to ensure they adhere to the already clearly stated guidelines for facial and other treatments. In our SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for Spa therapists and beautician we have very clear instructions on how the treatments should be performed and under what conditions - in your case these procedures have not been adhered to.
As much as we would like to offer courtesy room for our guests with late flight departures, sometimes we are just not in the position to provide this service due to the maximum occupancy of the hotel. Our FO Manager Iva remembers you have requested this service but at the time all our rooms were occupied. On other occasions, whenever possible and capacity allowing we keep at least one room at our guests' disposal, but in high season this might not be possible.
Your recommendations of our hotel and very objective remarks on the services you were not happy with is much appreciated.

I stayed here for three nights in July. The hotel is very new and modern. I had a beautiful, clean and spacious room. The bathroom was large and well appointed. The internet connection, (extra charge), worked well. The hotel is located about 15 minutes from the walled city. The public bus can get very crowded going into town...apparently the terminal is near the hotel where the bus turns around....perhaps a better place to board. The front desk people were wonderful. Always smiling and helpful. But then there is the restaurant---no one smiled once in three days. Breakfast should start at 7:00 AM, but they open the doors and the staff is not yet ready. No one will cook eggs for 15 minutes!! After standing at the grill for a while one "cook" started my omlette, then just walked away. I had to pick up the utensils and finish it myself! However, if you eat later, there isn't a problem. If there is a manager there he needs to be fired. The entire staff needs reeducation. Dinner was buffet style and very good. The breakfast choices were excellent as well with croissants hot from the oven. But the service detracted from the food. If you don't want to eat the buffet dinner, there is an overpriced a la carte restaurant that we avoided. There is a small complex of shops, bars and restaurants that serves this cluster of hotels, and they have some reasonably priced restaurants there, although the menus are fairly simple. I would stay here again if I didn't have to venture into the restaurant.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the lounge/bar/terrace area for the quietest rooms.

We have also passed on your compliments to the Front Office staff and have encouraged them to continue providing good and friendly smiling serivice to our guests.
We have also noted your valuable comments regarding our restaurant staff, particularly our breakfast staff and have discussed the issue with them and the management. There is absolutely no excuse for the lack of interest on their behalf you have experienced. We are convinced this was an isolated case and that no other guest would ever have to finish the omelette themselves at the cooking station.
Many thanks again on your sincere comments and many thanks for recommending our hotel despite the unfortunate experience at breakfast time. We hope to have an opportunity to show our restaurant breakfast staff in better light.
