“Excellent value”
Reviewed 8 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

The apartment was small but more than adequate for a stay in dubrovnick old town. The location was perfect. Right in centre but just off busy streets. There are all sorts of thoughtful touches eg beach towels,, parasol, umbrellas (unfortunately we had to use), mobile phone,. Nike left us lovely homemade cake and although she spoke no English she was charming. I would recommend this property as a good value place to rent in great location

“Stroll the Old City at 6:00am”
Reviewed 17 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Staying in the heart of the Old City is the only way to see Dubrovnik and Apartment Nike provides an affordable and comfortable option to travellers. Since Dubrovnik can be over-run by thousands of tourists between 10am-4pm (cruise ships), we appreciated that the location of the apartment allowed us to explore the city in the off-hours- at the crack of dawn and also later at night when the tourists had cleared out.

Marko was fantastic in handling our booking and prompt with replies to emails. Mrs. Nke was very sweet and baked us some hot pastries in the middle of our visit. We travelled with our teenage daughter and so she slept on the couch in the living area- all very comfortable. There can be some street noise when the windows are open (from the restaurant below) but fortunately, the windows are very high quality and so you get immediate sound proofing as soon as they are shut. The non-smoking policy was much appreciated and the apartment smelled very clean (there is a small balcony for smokers).

The 10% off at the Marco Polo Restaurant (right outside the door) was also great- we ate there twice during our 4 day visit (read separate restaurant reviews). Don't miss the morning local vegetable market- just steps away from the apartment.

All in all- a fantastic stay!

“Apartment Nike - Perfect Place to Stay in Dubrovnik”
Reviewed 29 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

people found this review helpful

We stayed in Apartment Nike for eight nights in October and we could not imagine a more perfect apartment in the heart of old town Dubrovnik! The apartment was newly updated and spotlessly clean. The kitchen area was small but adequate for breakfast and, with the wonderful restaurant Marco Polo just downstairs, we didn't need to cook dinners for ourselves. We especially enjoyed having the windows in the living room open in the early evening when the sounds of mellow jazz and muted conversation from the restaurant would carry up to our rooms providing a pleasant background for our conversation over a glass of wine before we headed down to dinner.

We have stayed in many lovely apartments around the world but what made this vacation rental truly special was our "landlady" Mrs. Nike who has to be the sweetest, most thoughtful, person we've met in a long time. Although she doesn't speak English and we don't speak Croatian, she made us feel welcome from the moment we met her. She brought us delicious home made coffee cake one morning - what a treat! She also walked us to meet our car and driver on the morning we left. It was raining heavily and the wind was whipping around the buildings when she arrived at our door at 6:30 a.m. She had umbrellas for us and she walked us outside the city walls to the place we were to meet the driver and then she stayed with us until he arrived! Such kindness!

If you plan to visit Dubrovnik, I'd recommend that you submit a reservation request for Apartment Nike as soon as you have finished reading this review!

“Amazing Location”

Just back from a 5 day trip to Dubrovnik. Stayed in Nike Apartments which were in an amazing location. The apartment was off the main street and a minute walk to Ploce Gate and the directions we were given were exact.. It was also only one flight of stairs to the accomodation which is very rare in Dubrovnik. the apartment itself was compact (but plenty of space for 2 adults and one teenager)and spotlessly clean and an ideal base for touring. Would definitely recommend this and would return again.

“Fantastic apartment in the heart of the old city.”

We stayed in the apartment for 3 days during August and found it to be an ideal base for exploring the city. It is right in the centre and is about a 2 minute walk from St Blasius Church and Stradun ideal for when you get hot / tired and just want to pop back to rest before setting off again.
Marko was very helpful with his directions on how to find the apartment; we arrived via Port Gruz having previously spent 9 days in Korcula and he was there to meet us; even though we were nearly an hour late. He recommended places to eat for which we were very grateful as there are so many to choose from.
The apartment is compact and well furnished, ideal for all our needs.
We had a fantastic time in Dubrovnik, I couldn't recommend it enough and would very much like to have spent more time there; hindsight is a wonderful thing.

“We loved this apartment, and we plan on going back!!!”

My husband and I just returned from a stay at Apartment Nike. I cannot speak highly enough of the apartment, the location and of Marko and Nike. If you are considering a holiday in Dubrovnik and want to stay in the Old Town, this is unbeatable.

First, Marko is so nice and very easy to work with. He is very prompt with communications and helpful if you have questions. He also sent us very detailed directions to help us find the apartment for the day we arrived. His mother, Nike, lives upstairs and welcomed us when we arrived. She is SO sweet...we arrived hot and sweaty and she quickly surprised us with two cold beers. :) They are just wonderful. On the day we left, our taxi picked us up at 5:15 in the morning and it was a rainy morning…Marko got up early and walked us all the way to the city walls with umbrellas to help us.

The apartment itself is just perfect. Larger than European hotel rooms, with wi-fi, air conditioning, a kitchen, a living area, and a separate bedroom and bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and the apartment was very clean. It even has two beach towels and a beach bag that you can take with you to the beach. It is right above the Marco Polo restaurant (which is outstanding, you must go there!), but this is not a rowdy restaurant, so we were never bothered by noise.

The location is unbeatable. When traveling, we love to walk around and explore a city on foot as much as we can. If you want to be in the center of the Old Town, you are not going to do any better than this apartment. It is literally right in the middle of everything, but tucked away so that it’s quiet. It is only steps away from the main square and main streets. There are restaurants and wine bars all over the place within a few steps. We could not believe what an outstanding location we were in.

Again, if you want to be in the Old Town and in the thick of things, don’t hesitate about this apartment. The value is outstanding. We were thrilled with everything about it! We plan to go back to Dubrovnik, and when we do we will definitely stay here again.

“Best place to stay in Dubrovnik without a doubt!!”

We stayed in Apt. Nike for nine days in June and were very pleased with the central location, the immaculate condition it was in, the great nite's sleep we always had, but most of all we appreciated and loved Marco's grandmother Nike who made our stay so outstanding! Chocolate truffles, fresh towels and sheets before you even thought you needed them and arriving back at the apartment with a freshly baked warm cake waiting for us!! This is the place you would want to stay. Also, the price is very reasonable for Dubrovnik!
