“Amazing Hotel, Amazing Views!”
Reviewed 12 January 2014

We really loved our stay at Hotel Adria. The highlight is the views from the room. Make sure you go for a room with a seaview, it is absolutely worth it. The staff was all extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice on the inside with a good bathroom, but all we really wanted to do was spend our time enjoying the view out the window and on the balcony. There are also spectacular views from the lobby and the restaurant, where a pretty good breakfast is served. It is a little bit of a hike up the hill to get there if you want to walk, but the views from the top are definitely worthwhile. There is also a bus that comes pretty often and gets you there easily. Perhaps the only downside was that they do not have laundry facilities there or nearby. Despite that, it is a fantastic hotel and for the price and experience, we would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the sea

Actually I would give my best rating for this hotel if it was not for the staff and the personnel , I have never seen in any part of the world any hotel staff to speak in their own language and not in English although you communicate them in English they always respond in Croatian.I do not think that such a Hotel that is wonderful with a very nice view and sincerely a 4 Star and not a 3 star facility deserves such a personnel , the manager should tell them to communicate in ENGLISH which is the International Tourism Language.

Room Tip: Rooms from - 1 TO - 3 floor have the best view.

After being away at a business conference in another hotel I came back to see there was money missing form my wallet, which I left in my bag at the room. Not all of it was misssing, but an amount significant to me, but not big enough for the police to have to process the case officially (The law in Croatia let's anyone who's taken less than 2000 kunas free since it is considered petty theft). The director was very rude and kept acting like it was my fault - thereby implying that all maids (at least, I am assuming, those he hires) steal, as if this was some fact of life I was unaware of! He did not offer any compensation, although the situation was clear - the cameras show only the maid entered the room that day and a collegue in the room next to mine also noticed some of her money was missing!
I would not be surpised if this happened to more people, as it seems the strategy is to take only a part of the money hoping the customer won't notice and if they do, they can't do anything about it since the amount is to small and your only chance is to file a provate lawsuit

Room Tip: There a chance you will end up with a room for the disabled (without any prior warning or informatio...

Modern hotel located on the main I8 road above the port.
Rooms very spacious (I did have the disabled room though) and clean, restaurant served buffet style meals which were perfectly adequate and had a good view over the new port where the cruise ships dock.
The staff were friendly and helpful with good wifi.
Only downside it's not in a very good location for exploring Dubrovnik, you either have to drive or walk down the 420 steps to get down to the main port. I think there might be a hotel shuttle but not 100% sure!

This hotel is upside down in that the bedrooms are on the ground floors and the reception, bar and restaurant are on the upper floors to take advantage of the spectacular views. The room was spacious and clean with a decent bathroom. Breakfast was good too and we ate at the hotel one night out of the 4 we were there and that was good too. Price was excellent - only GBP130 for 4 nights per person. There is a regular public bus from the old city, which is cheap but the only downside of the hotel is that you have to walk from the bus stop down a busy main road with no pavement and no street lighting.

Overlooking the newer town of Dubrovnik with some fascinating & stunning coastal views.
Our room was modern with all that was needed - no tissues though! Unfortunately, we had booked a 'Disabled' room which was adjacent to the stairwell, lift & access to the garage ,,, so late night returnees or early departures were audible! Breakfast was good, with a large choice of fresh foods to select from. We found the staff to be very helpful & cheerful & provided us with very useful advice in respect to Old Dubrovnik. Plenty of on-site parking!

Room Tip: If disabled ask for an accessible room but not next door to the stairs & lift / elevator.

We arrived after a long drive through Albania, so feeling quite tired.

We had asked for the special needs bedroom, as I needed to know that I would not be faced with STAIRS. The room was excellent, clean and large - however - it is situated in the hall stairwell - so when ever anyone took the stairs (always talking!!) you heard every step. When people got out of the lift - you heard every movement. I do not understand why this lovely room was placed in such a strange venue. Our views were over the bay which was fabulous.

The beds were comfortable and the staff were incredibly helpful. The old town is about a 40 mins walk if you are fit, but you need a car or the bus if you have walking difficulties.

If we stayed in Dubrovink for more than one night, we would choose a different hotel nearer the town. BUT, we would stay again if we were passing through, but we would choose a different room and accept that I may have to have a stand up wash rather than a shower.

Staff, you were so jolly helpful. Thank you
