“Very clean and friendly”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014 via mobile

We stayed just one night here, between a flight from the UK and a ferry to Mljet the next morning. When we booked it, we thought it would only be a short walk to the ferry terminal, but in fact the hotel is at the top of a steep hill, and with our heavy bags we had to give up and hail a taxi. It would also have been difficult to get down, as there are a number of steps to content with.

Our room was impeccably clean, it felt like we were the first to ever stay there. Apparently, the new building we were in had been open for about 2 months. We had a great view over the bay, and all we needed - except for the notable absence of tea/coffee making facilities. This was a blow to me, as I do need coffee in the morning before I am capable of anything.

Otherwise, everything was fine. Mia on reception was very nice and helpful (she even made me a coffee early in the morning before the bartender started work).

Modern hotel with great, friendly staff. Room was spotless, cleaned every day, immaculate bathroom and no problems with the air con. Flatscreen tv & free Wi-Fi. Breakfast was nice, not a huge selection or variety - but fine for what it is.

The Adria is *very* high up on one side of Dubrovnik. Walking to the Hotel after a day/night out is testing as it's a very steep climb - trust me I did it a few times at pace and was soaked through with sweat!! There is a bus stop nearby and bearing in mind Dubrovnik's excellent public transport you are not isolated in any way.

A decent choice for sure...

The shuttle bus/car to old town is a must and reasonably priced. The no 3 bus back is the best option as taxis cost about £10 a pop. As usual, the buffet breakfast was very poor with plastic eggs and cardboard, cold and very greasy bacon. The 'fresh' fruit was almost non-existant. In fact, we watched some of it deteriorating daily over the week we stayed here.

We ate a la carte on night although the restaurant was full with people either on half board or tours who were using the buffet. The food was pretty poor. Plenty of good restaurants in the old town.

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony and a nice view over the port.

Check in pretty strict on 1500 check in time. Staff okay. Rooms were quite spacious, nice beds, we also had views of the port and a balcony. Free wifi. Quite far from the town but they do offer a shuttle service down to the city, but I don't remember the price. Or you can take the number 3 bus down and back.

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in May 2014. It is maintained extremely well and the staff are very helpful and speak excellent English. We had 'a room with a view' which looked onto the Adriatic and could watch all the activity in the harbour below whilst sipping on some beers. They have a buffet meal on offer every evening which is basic but fills a hole for around £10.
Sadly there is a down side...which is outwith the hotels control....STAIRS...lots of them. Yes it sounds insignificant but Dubrovnik is one giant stair case, only book this hotel if you are fit or want to loose weight or use public transport.

Lovely hotel situated on a hillside overlooking Dubrovnik, 10 minutes walk to the harbour side, hotel does have a shuttle bus at a nominal cost to drop you at the old town. Staff helpful and friendly, overall a first class experience.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are great
