“Great hotel!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2013

Stayed in Grand Hotel Park for one week. I was quite concerned reading previous reviews about the villa/annex rooms as this was where we had been allocated. We got a room in Villa Park and we could not fault it. It was very spacious in size with more than enough hanging and storage area for all our clothes. (Did meet one lady travelling on her own who was also allocated a room in Villa Park but she said it was very small and after two days she got moved into the main hotel so maybe we were lucky with our room!) Beds made and towels changed every day. Air con definitely needed in the soaring temperatures! Breakfast was great - plenty to suit all tastes so no reason why anyone would go hungry from it. We were usually down early between 8am and 9am so it wasn't overly busy but allow yourself time to enjoy a lazy breakfast in case of queues etc. I did not go into the outdoor pool but my partner likes to swim regularly and he said it was just too salty for swimming for any length of time.

The hotel is in an ideal location and Lapad is a beautiful area. We walked to the old town most days and got a bus back. Number 4 is more direct than the number 6 on way out of town. Had read lots of previous reviews of the hotel and things to do in Dubrovnik and made notes of them to take with me so this was all very useful when we were out and about. Lapad is much quieter and more relaxed than the old town. Everything had quietened down by mid-night though you were still able to get drinks in most bars. The old town is also much more expensive for food and drinks.

We did not go to the beach so not sure if you have to pay for the sun beds there. We preferred to walk around the cliff walk and then go down in to the rocks and swim and sunbathe there. It is amazing how you can do this in all areas we visited - the old town, Lapad and Cavtat!

Croatia is an amazing place to visit. Everything about it is local so it's not like other places I visited with English food, drinks workers etc....you just have to embrace their culture. It is an ideal location for couples or groups of friends wishing to enjoy a relaxing break in amazing surroundings. Maybe not so much for groups of young people wanting a party holiday!

We had three nights here as an add-on after a Croatian coastal cruise. Excellent hotel. Facilities, food, staff, cleanliness etc all great. We had an apartment in the grounds away from the main part of the building and it was HUGE and immaculate. Location is perfect too with lots of bars and restaurants just outside the grounds of the hotel and an easy to find bus service to the old town centre. We hope to go back sometime and stay for at least a week, especially to make more use of the great free spa facilities and pools.

Room Tip: Try to get an apartment in the grounds, especially one of the block of five white ones with their ow...

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Park in July/August 2013 (2 weeks 1/2 Board). We are a family of 3 and had 2 rooms, both of which were clean, comfortable and had ample storage space. The air-conditioning was superb, and needed to be,
as for 10 of our stay we were subjected to a heat wave!
Meals were served in a large Dining Room and were Buffet in style. Menus were not repeated during our stay and the food was excellent!
The pool is large and has ample Sun-Loungers,and the Pool bar served delicious food-especially Pizza!
Dubrovnik itself is a top place to visit, as is Croatia generally(our 3rd visit-twice to Rovinj). Do all the things suggested in the old town ,and visit the Irish Bar if you want to hear a guitar genius ( Jimmi K )
All in all a near perfect holiday and Hotel - Couldn't find a fault.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms are in full sun all afternoon, so the cheaper mountain(and car park) view rooms may...

I took a group of people to this hotel for a few days as part of a tour of Croatia.
The staff couldn't do enough for us and were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a very large restaurant and the buffet meals were of very good quality and quantity. The hotel rooms were very nice but would recommend paying the extra for a Seaview room. The single rooms are slightly smaller than the double rooms but have a double bed which is a bonus. The hotel has excellent leisure faciltiies with two large swimming pools, sauna, massage and beauty therapies. The pool area has lots of sunbeds. There is a large car park in front of the hotel and it is a few minutes walk to the beach and lots of nice restaurants. Try Casa for a great fish meal.
Taking everything into consideration this is an excellent hotel in a good location around 3 kilometres from Dubrovnik Old Town. Public buses run every 10 minutes from near the hotel to the Old Town.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms on the higher floors have the best sea views.

The hotel was great, the staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was good for buffet style food. It is a great hotel for couples or families and my two kids loved it. The only draw back is the balconies were very narrow and not comfortable to sit on and the rooms are not huge but overall the standards were great.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view and if the older part of the hotel is available the balconies looked much larger...

We are a family of 4-with 2 teenagers-and stayed here 14-21st July 2013. Our rooms were really good-especially the large corner room we had-masses of space! The bathroom was clean and well equipped-even though the Jacuzzi effect wasn't working. the air con was fully controllable which made it so comfortable. Lots of space to unpack. The buffet meals had loads of choice-the salad bar being especially good. Good to find somewhere that doesn't overcharge for drinks, too.The pools were great and gym nice and cool. The pool bar was handy for a snack and the taverna had lovely food which was reasonable priced. Location couldn't have been better-shops, restaurants etc close by. 5 minutes walk to Lapad bay. 10-15 minutes on the bus to the Pile gate (old town), with buses going every 10 mins-no 6 nearer but no 4 less crowded. Old Town is so beautiful-never seen such blue and clear sea! Walk round the walls, go up the cable car for fantastic views and story of the 90s war in the fort. Boat trips to Cavtat and the Elefati islands are lovely. Montenegro is only an hour away and so different!
All in all-fantastic holiday, fantastic place, fantastic hotel

Room Tip: Corner room on 6th floor-spacious, no noise and great views

The hotel has one of the best locations, very close to the beach. The hotel is quite good, with clean rooms, great service, friendly personnel, delicious and diverse breakfast. Its a great place to go with the kids, as there is a park just in front off the hotel with lots of entertainment for the kids. There is small promenade nearby hotel with lots of places to eat and drink.
Old City is 10 minutes by taxi from the hotel, and there is exchange office close to the hotel as well. The only thing that is not working is WIFI, so make sure you check it before you book in if thats important.
In general, i would strongly recommend to choose this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms on the upper floors, they have great view on the sea
