This hotel is a definite 4 star and delivers on every front. If you want to combine a relaxing seaside break with an amazing city, then this is it. The hotel is a few steps away from a small pebble beach and an attractive promenade runs alongside. There are good bars and restaurants along the promenade and the small cove and headland are very pretty. As mentioned before, you either take a number 6 or a number 4 bus into Dubrovnik (these run every 15 mins), the journey takes 15 minutes and drops you off at Pile Gate.

Staff at the hotel were very polite and helpful and everything ran like clockwork. Anyone can nit-pick about a holiday, but we were very pleased with the room, food, location and amenities. It is probably worth asking for a sea-view as it is beautiful. Our room was 306.

Try the three islands boat trip. Lovely islands and good value for money. Also, take Kuna, not Euros as suggested in some travel books. We found the exchange rate better in the U.K. than in Croatia.

We were from 04.05.14 - 11.045.14 and the weather was hot and sunny every day, except the day we arrived. Dubrovnik is a wonderful city, really recommend a visit.

Room Tip: A room with a sea view - ours was 306.

Hard to find fault with the hotel at the price. Rooms were spacious, well equipped, very clean, everything worked as it should, Breakfast was excellent with a good range of times and choice of food, all well stocked. Indoor and outdoor pool (saltwater) and gym. Easy access to local restaurants the beach and bus (2 routes) to the old city. Staff spoke excellent English and very helpful.

A strange experience. The hotel was average in many ways and lacking the quality to make it a better hotel. The staff were friendly-ish, but didn't offer to take bags to the room etc when we arrived. The quality of the rooms was distinctly average, although the view was lovely. Food in the hotel was ok, but fairly average. There are much nicer (cheap) bars and restaurants around and about, and I would recommend people do that instead. The gym was well equipped but poorly looked after, bins needed emptying and towels were left around. The pool was nice, but the fixtures and fittings needed work. The location was good as you got to see an area other than Central Dubrovnik, which was quite pleasant.

I would check out other hotels before selecting this one.

Had a room with a view of the Adriatic. Hotel was fairly empty. Location is quite convenient to the bus that takes you to the walled city. I believe it is the #6. Breakfast buffet was very plentiful. Since it was off season there were not many restaurants open in the promenade along the Adriatic. However, off season meant we had the walled city to ourselves without mobs of people from the cruise ships.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 10 nights on a half board basis and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The staff were lovely and very polite, the rooms are also lovely (ours was). Unfortunately however I couldn't access any of the pay per view as they were waiting on a part from germany, so unless you can understand the language, TV in the room is pretty pointless. Infact I suggest bringing a laptop or tablet pre loaded with films should you find you or your family in the room early and feeling bored, also as a tip wi-fi works but is very slow.

The downstairs bar is nice and cosy and also does a happy hour 6-7 which is great, not that we are big drinkers but getting drinks cheaper than they already are is a great bonus. The resteraunt is also pleasant (see further)

On our visit however the outdoor pool was closed until the start of season which I was a little disappointed about, however they do offer and in door pool which is good, however I couldn't really use it as the salt water affects my face to much, but when I did use it, it was pleasant enough, although like warm which I have been informed my numerous people most places here don't need to or choose to hear the pools.

They also offer the of the gym, sauna and steam room which where also pleasant. A downside however was the spa, as there were numerous treatments we would of loved to undertake but due to lack of staff (one off sick and maybe not enough due to season) they could only offer the typical facial, manicure or pedicure like they do back home, so we declined and had to go elsewhere for this.

The food is very good, there seems to be something different on the buffet every night, some of it is random however and you would wonder what you can put together but for some reason it seems to work. Breakfast however gets a bit samey, but still good none the less.

All in all I have no qualms with this hotel what so ever, it's was clean, nice, cosy, pleasant on the eye and also friendly.

It also boasts a great location, with a supermarket 2 minutes down the road, a few resteraunts on the way there, and also out the gate and across the road is the promenade where you will find plenty of bars and cafés on your way to the beach.

Last but not least, although I am speaking from an out of season perspective, the hotel and surrounding area is very quite and peaceful at night should you want to sleep, or sit and read, or even watch the world go by on your balcony.

Great hotel and a great country

A gorgeous hotel in a beautiful position. The food was lovely and none of the party of nine that I travelled with were disappointed. We visited the hotel in August and there was no problem in getting a sunbed, though a few more umbrellas may have been helpful. Rooms were lovely but I only gave them 4 stars as balcony was quite small, but as I don't like going out on balconies this was not a problem. In our group there were 4 pensioners who were not interested in going in the water and there is a gorgeous seating area, both covered and uncovered. As this was a few steps up from the pool area they were never bothered with the noise or splashes coming from the water, (not that that was a problem as there were not many children.) For people that do have families there is a gorgeous play park and gardens between the hotel, pool and the bay which is gorgeous. There is a gym (which I didn't use) and a indoor pool. There are a few steps in the hotel but the lift takes you down to the Lower Ground where you can get to the pool area by walking through past the spa entrance and the indoor pool. At the side of the hotel is a beautiful walkway area with loads of pub and restaurants. Drinks were obviously cheaper than the hotel and it was nice to sit and watch both the local and holiday makers go walk up and down on an evening. There is a cliff side walk around to the next bay which is lovely and worth doing. Further up behind the hotel is a small supermarket which was not too expensive and had a lovely bakery and deli and we made sandwiches a few times and ate them for lunch. Next to the supermarket is a small shopping centre with various shops and bars restaurants etc. There is also a money exchange which gave us a better exchange rate than we got in England or main town Dubrovnik. No 4 bus left from these shops and the 4 and 6 drop you off there. Ask the hotel where to pick up 6 at the side of the hotel as it is much quieter than going for the no 4, as there was sometimes not enough room on the bus for everyone to get on. If we had not booked this years holiday already, we would definitely gone back again, without any hesitation. The hotel and resort are gorgeous and we will return. Dubrovnik is amazing.

Room Tip: Pay a bit more for a room with a view. We got the mountain side which was nice, but another of our...

We stayed here for five days out of peak season and the hotel was great, rooms are spacious, view from ocean view rooms is truly special and the balcony size is adequate for two to sit and have a night cap :)
Only downside really was that on two occasions we attended the gorgeous indoor pool and relaxation area to find it was closed during its normal opening hours with a sign only in Croatian as an explanation, also the diner menu on two nights was only printed in Croatian so we ate elsewhere.

All in all I would stay here again because the price and location far outweighs the few little niggles here and there.
