We stayed at this hotel end of June and start of July. First of all I would agree with some of the comments that this was not a 4 * hotel I would say if you could have it, its a 3.5*. The let downs - untidy grounds, no tea/coffee making and ironing facility in rooms. That said we had a great holiday and we were well looked after, our room was lovely and cleaned every day with clean towels if needed, and all the staff are brilliant. We stayed half board and the food was very good. I like my food and love to cook so I can not understand some of the negative comments, if you could not find something you liked then you are a very fussy eater. I have to say I did not have one meal which I did not enjoy.
The hotel location is excellent with lovely walks nearby and Dubrovnik, 15 min on a bus, is fantastic. The people are so lovely. Would like to have given an excellent rating but it just fell short. Would I go back to this hotel, yes I would. As for Croatia we want to see more what a lovely place :-)

Just returned from a fantastic 7 day holiday to Dubrovnik staying at this hotel. I would give this hotel 4 stars if a few changes were made. The staff are friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable but lacked storage space and didn't provide tea/coffee making facilities. There was a useful mini bar in the room which we used to store our drinks. Modern bathroom but I hated the shower - too fiddly. Payed extra for a sea view but was given a room on the 1st floor with a glimpse of the sea. I went to reception and asked if we could be moved to a higher floor but was told that all the rooms were fully booked and told to come back the next day to check. To be fair the next day they did say that we could move to a higher floor the following day (which would have been the 3rd day into the holiday), but as we had unpacked everything by then the hassle wasn't worth it. Balcony was small but adequate but those at the front of hotel get very hot in the afternoon/ evening. The food at the hotel was very nice with plenty of choice, although in a 4 star hotel I would expect water to be provided on the table with dinner, but it was not. Did not use the pool as the sunbeds were always taken up (it's the usual annoyance of towels being placed on beds by 8am in the morning) . We did manage to ge a bed one day by the bar area but the smoke coming from a furnace from the onsite taverna was overwhelming so we went to the local beach instead. The local beach is small and pebbly but very nice with the most comfortable sunbeds I have ever used on a beach (cost 40 kunas each for a bed and 30 kunas for umbrella). The beach is overtaken on the weekend though by the locals and can get very busy. The resort is OK with a few bars and restaurants. Recommend the cave bar and the cassa restaurant by the beach. Beware of the local tour/ boat trip touts who line the main strip - they bother you everytime you walk past them. The main point of the holiday was to visit dubrovnik old town and it didn't dissappoint. It is stunning. You must walk the city walls - it takes about 1 - 2 hours (taking your time) and would suggest doing it in the evening around 5 - 6pm when it's quieter and cooler (cost 100 kuna). The views are breathtaking. Take the no 4 bus from lapad to the old town (takes 10-15 minutes). Overall had a fab holiday and would go back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Higher floor if you want a sea view. Although balconies at the front of hotel get very hot in the...

After reading a few bad reviews I was worried that the Grand Park Hotel wouldn't live up to expectations that I had when I first booked, however this hotel was lovely.

We were early for check in (which is 2pm) however the let us leave our bags in the lobby, you can also use their facilities. Although there were many guests wanting to check in at the same time, It was very quick and easy. We had a room on the 2nd floor (no sea view), the view was actually lovely. The room was lovely, very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom and shower was very nice, always hot water no matter what time. Towels were replaced if you left them in the shower. I read a lot of reviews on here where they say the storage isnt enough, I found it fine to be honest.

The food was always plentiful and varied, no matter how fussy you are there was food for you (believe me I am fussy and I was always full). Breakfast was very nice, hot food, cereals, drinks, pancakes etc. The waiters were super nice, cheerful and welcoming.

We had a problem with our safe one day, I went to reception after dinner and it was sorted in literally 5-10 minutes. The staff are really helpful.

The hotel is in a very convenient location, close to the beach (which we didn't really bother with), restaurants, supermarkets and bus stops. Find Tommy's the nearest supermarket - we bought water from a kiosk stand on the first day and it was 3 times more expensive than the supermarket - it is literally 2 minutes away. Also use the number 4 bus to get to the old town, it seems much less busy and is actually closer to the hotel.

In all we had a lovely time at this hotel and would visit it again, If you are reading the bad reviews please try to ignore them, they made me worried for weeks about the hotel when there was nothing to worry about.

Room Tip: The non sea view rooms had a lovely view, you can see the car park but in my opinion it doesn't...

We had a room which was not a pool view and it was fine (pay extra for pool view). Room clean, comfy beds and aircon works great but there is no bath just a very fancy shower but did not find this a problem.
The pool was salt water and sun beds were at a premium even though they were pretty uncomfortable - towels were available from the spa.
We had B&B package so I can only comment on that meal. Good choice of hot and cold dishes and sparking wine was also available.
A nice touch was a card and bottle of champers on my birthday. I can only assume they worked it out from my passport. All of the staff were friendly and the location of the hotel was excellent.
The only improvement I would suggest would possibly be a shuttle bus into the Old Town as it worked out quite expensive for the four of us on the local bus.

Room Tip: not worth paying extra for a pool view

We returned from a 7 day stay at this hotel last week and wanted to give our opinion against others submitted on this site. We have stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels all over the world and therefore feel as though we can judge this against the experiences in these.
Lets start by saying straight away that it is not 4 star. We reach this conclusion based on the following aspects that do not reach 4 star standard.
Thin toilet paper, thin towels, small balcony, insufficient storage space in room, (depending on room category),no tea making facilities, small lifts, uncomfortable bar area with no atmosphere, watered down orange juice, hot breakfast items only tepid, hard sunbeds and some tiles round the pool area had lifted.
On the plus side, the hotel is conveniently situated 75 yards from a pedestrianized street containing bars, restaurants and shops. The staff were friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is adequate. Towels are changed every day if you require it and the room is cleaned reasonably well. The dining room is large, light and airy and the food is of a reasonable standard. The pool area is clean and tidy with parasols and tables and a good bar service is provided.
On the whole we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it but advising on the shortfalls we have highlighted. Dubrovnik itself is a lovely place to visit and the old town, a 15 minute bus journey away, is a must visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool area.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel which is a basic 4* . The rooms are basic but clean, and as mentioned in other reviews no extras were provided. We were on the half-board option and both breakfast and evening meal were buffet style. There was a good range of options at both meals and a variety of fish and meat dishes at dinner. Wi-fi was free in the hotel, but reception was poor in our room, but better near the reception area. There were two pools - one indoor, one outdoor which were both excellent. There was a shortage of sunbeds and people tended to reserve theirs from very early in the morning. There was a notice saying that towels would be removed if beds were left vacant for more than an hour - but this was not adhered to.
The hotel is well positioned and is a short bus ride from the Old Town. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at this Hotel, with Jet2, fantastic weather, couple of rain showers Tues and Wednesday, but only for a short time. Hotel is in a great location just minutes from the pedestrian area which is well supplied with bars and restaurants, the swing seats are great for watching the world go by. We stayed in Villa Maria and were disappointed that we didn't have a balcony, only a very small window, but the room was comfortable and clean, air con and wi-fi very good, bathroom very small and in need of refurbishment, floor flooded easily, towels and bedding changed regularly, we stayed B and B only, the breakfast was good lots of variety, good to see diabetic and gluten free catered for, 4 coffee machines and 2 toasters which seemed ok to me, some queues but not bad, omelettes made to order was a nice touch. We had our daily coffee and cake in the pool bar 25 kunar each, would definitely recommend, good excuse to get out of the sunshine, beer prices were competitive too, staff were friendly and all spoke very good English. Pleasant 45 minute walk from the Hotel to the gate of the Old Town, well worth it but also a very regular bus if you don't fancy the walk, recommend the trip to Montenegro. Downside is pool loungers, there just aren't enough for the extended Hotel now Villa Park is finished. Salt water indoor and outdoor pools which are clean, pool area brushed daily during our stay, jacuzzi was also in use during our stay, indoor pool was very useful during rain showers. Good quality, Free towels available daily from the spa which were very useful. Due to shortage of sun loungers we found that people were placing towels as early as 7am to reserve beds, we also witnessed one large group reserving beds in sun and beds in shade and moving between the 2 areas during the day which disadvantaged other guests who just wanted to lie beside the pool, Management need to address this issue. Book library was a nice touch. Villa Park was complete when we arrived, we had been pre-warned by Jet2, we found it was very quiet at night but if you leave the window open the air con doesn't work, which is understandable. Will definitely return Croatia is a beautiful Country
