Stayed for 2 weeks and have to say really had a great holiday...We went thru tomsons and had a room on 6th floor looking out to the hills room was clean bright, aircon worked superb no noise.bathroom had a free standing shower enclosure with body jets however this was bit cramped inside and I'm 5'8 average build.not enough storage but manageable.
Food was fine could get a bit samey come the second week so we ventured out a couple of times as local restaurants inexpensive..We were directed by our rep to buono which has is 10 min walk..which was excellent. .Rest of hotel super..pool lovely salt water so great for swimming in..grounds were a little over grown but we're being attended to when we left and bar closes at midnight..(being picky now).staff are really friendly attentive and helpful we loved it so much we seriously considering going back next year.old town is 10 min in bus.buy a dubrovnik card and you get into museums plus 10 bus fares well worth the money.

I visited the Hotel Grand Park in June for two weeks with my boyfriend and my parents. I was a bit worried as the reviews are a little hit and miss, however if you visit this hotel you will not be disappointed.
Our room was lovely with a beautiful sea view and balcony (which we did pay extra for). It was clean and big enough for two with a nice size bathroom. It had a small tv, a mini bar and free wifi.
The meals were buffet style so pretty much you will find something you like. Breakfast you can choose from fruit, cheeses and cold meats, cooked breakfast and pancakes. The only bad thing to say is you can queue a while for the coffee and toast machine, however there is free prosecco which is a lovely treat.
Dinners are things like soups, salads, cold meats and cheeses, pasta, two fish dishes, two meat dishes, vegetables, different potatoes and a choice of small desserts and fruit. The only bad thing to say is there was not much vegetarian choice of a hot meal.
The staff are all friendly and helpful. There are only two small lifts though so you can spend a while trying to get up and down if you are on the top floor.

The area itself is lovely, a short walk to the beach and a promenade of bars and cafes, nothing to lively but a good atmosphere. Drinks are very reasonable.
You will need to get a bus or taxi to the city of Dubrovnik. Its cheap enough to go but the buses are very busy so you will likely have to stand and be packed in.
The town is beautiful, lovely cafes, restaurants and shops, some lovely cliff side bars too. Great boat trips from the harbour side also.
You can go up on a cable car and the view is something else, if you do nothing else go up and have a drink looking at the amazing beautiful scenery.

Overall a beautiful place and a lovely hotel.

Room Tip: Its worth getting a sea view.

We (my husband and I), spent our honeymoon at the Grand Hotel Park. This was our very 1st holiday on our own without the kids and we enjoyed every minute.
This hotel is very worthy of its 4* rating, it was so clean and tidy everything was immaculate and to a high standard. The variety of food available was brilliant, I'm not a fish or seafood eating person however there were other meats and non meat foods to choose from.
On arrival we discovered that you are unable to check in until 2pm, as we arrived just after 1pm we sat and had a drink in the bar which was lovely. Our room was on the 7th floor (top floor) and had a spectacular sea view (highly recommend) our bed had rose petals scattered across it with towel swans and a lovely note wishing us well in our married life.
All the staff were very lovely and helpful we also tried out the spa/wellness area and had a couples massage and it was the most relaxing 40 minutes of my life.
Dubrovnik itself is such a beautiful city and is easy enough to get around, we recommend the number 6 bus to get to the old city however it does get crammed i mean sardine style! The old city is just gorgeous we walked on the wall and the sights were just beautiful. The water from the fountain was bliss and all the little streets and alleys were filled with shops, restaurants and cafes and everything was reasonably priced with also no pressure to buy anything by any of the owners. The weather was very hot the week we were there with one day hitting 40 degrees and we were walking in it! Even at 10.30am we saw the temperature screen saying it was 36 degrees!
If we had the chance we would definitely go back to Croatia and Dubrovnik there is so much to see and do and our 1st choice hotel would be The Grand Hotel Park!

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view and the higher up the better view!

This hotel is in a great location which is its best feature. We had lunch in the taverna several times and it was lovely. We also had drinks there in the evening and there was usually live music. The rooms were ok but ours lacked storage space and we struggled with two weeks clothes. We kept some things in our case. There was a definite lack of sun beds so you had to be out early. We had a sea view which was beautiful.

Room Tip: Sea view and high floor

We had a fabulous two weeks at The Grand Hotel Park.
As many people have said in reviews the staff were all completely lovely, extremely helpful and professional.
The layout of the hotel was superb, with a nice outdoor pool with plenty of sunbeds and a very pleasant salt water pool inside which was nice and quiet when we were there.
The garden is a particularly nice touch and a very restful place to go and sit in part shade.

The room we had was a bit small and in need of redecoration, but it was clean. The beds were changed every three days which was appreciated. The air conditioning was noisy but did the job. There was no evidence of any unwanted wildlife.
Top tip for your room - when leaving your room, the outside door handle will not work, so you have two choices: one is to slam the door which gets very wearing after a while, or scan your keycard as you leave and the handle will work. It takes about 10 seconds for it to lock again.

The restaurant was exceptional. We needed to have gluten free food and after initially approaching the maitre d' on our first night, he then met us every single evening at the door and gave us a guided tour of the options that we could have. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that there was at least four dishes we could have every night. The range of food available was amazing, with so many options. Breakfast was the same, everything from prepared to fruit, to a freshly made omelette, made to your specification. There is also Prosecco wine there every morning which I would recommend. The restaurant staff were very pleasant and helpful. They very much appreciated that we used Croatian 'good morning' and 'good evening' and 'thank you', and even helped us to learn a little more Croatian.

Dubrovnik is an amazing place, so beautiful. The old town needs several visits to do it any justice. A tour of the old town with a guide is recommended if you would like the history of the place and the guide we had lived in the old town and was very moved when telling us about the war in the early 90's. We didn't amange to do the wall walk, but we were told it is essential to do it early in the morning or late in the evening, and have plenty of water.

We travelled with Thompson for the first time and we were really impressed from booking the holiday in the local branch, to the lovely rep - Diana, that they went above and beyond to make sure we had the best holiday possible, Diana is smashing, she works really hard and has a lovely genuine smile on her face whenever you see her. Nothing was too much trouble.

The Cave Bar along the coast is a must, at any time of the day it is a great place. The cable car is a must do too. It is 100 Kuna each for a return but it is amazing when you are up there.

In conclusion Dubrovnik is highly recommended and so is the Grand Hotel Park. A really fabulous holiday.

Room Tip: The rooms at the rear of the hotel overlooking the car park, but with a lovely view of the hills behind and the cable car off to the right, are cheaper but most importantly, cooler. They get the early morning sun only.
