We stayed in this hotel last May. Overall, it offers very good value for money. We had a package deal (halfboard and flight) with a tour operator. I have already visited quite some hotels in several countries, so I kind of know what to expect. For exemple, don't expect if you have half board that wine is included, except when it is mentioned...
What I liked most:
- very good location, calme, beautiful surroundings, close to bars, restaurants, beach, busstop very close tor visit old town of Dubrovnik. The area is lovely. since we were there in low season, it was quiet and calm.
- nice pool area with very good poolbar, the barman is really friendly and nice!
Little points of criticism:
- it can get crowded at breakfast and dinner, in the morning if you go at 9.45 h. they already stopped restocking and setting tables
- prices of wine at dinner are very high for regional wine! (so usually we drank water), but I've already gotten used to that problem when taking half board...
- buffet dinner was ok but not spectacular, restaurant wasn't really a nice place to sit, more a cafetaria atmosphere, which I also kind of expected...
Things I really did not aprreciate:
- The staff couldn't really work under pressure, I believe... service in the restaurant is slowish, reception: they could keep you waiting because they were occupied with something else and ignore you...
- At the end of the holiday rooms weren't cleaned that well... They forgot to make the bed once, just emptied the bins and changed the towels. Also there are no other matrass covers than a simple sheet and it can shift very easily ... which is very unhygienic!

So overall, I recommand this hotel for a stay of 1 week, but don't take the halfboard, there are many nice (and cheaper) restaurants and pubs closeby. But I wonder if the staff can manage everything in high season...
Croatia is lovely, Dubrovnik area is very good place to visit, the croatian people are super friendly (they are happy to have you as a guest and it shows) which for me made my holiday something I will always remember and Ihave good memories about.

We stayed at the Hotel Grand Park for a week. Dubrovnik itself was beautiful and I would go back anytime, but would not stay here again. The rooms were fine and the pool was nice and a good size, though loungers were scarce and if you didn't get up before nine you didn't really have a chance of getting one. We were half board and the breakfasts were good, definitely what you'd expect for a four star hotel. Our room was clean except for some very dusty corners, which didn't really bother us. We had a seaview which was fantastic.

Our main problem with the hotel was its attitude to money. We paid what we considered quite a lot compared to similar places in Italy or France yet the hotel took every opportunity to charge us for extras. The sunbeds on the hotel's own beach had to be paid for by the day, even though most were empty. This was not mentioned before we booked, though the beach was advertised. In any case, there were lots of much nicer beaches and places to swim nearby so we avoided Grand Hotel Park's beach.
We were also disappointed with the dinner service in the evening. The drinks were not free and we had to pay approx £2 for a small bottle of mineral water - the cheapest option - to accompany our food. I asked for tap water (which is fine to drink, by the way) and was told the waiting staff were not allowed to give us any. The waitress seemed very sympathetic and said they used to provide tap water, but the management had since outlawed it. This is not legal in the UK - though I'm not sure what the rules are in Croatia. Again, there were so many other delicious places to eat in the Old City that we only had one dinner at our hotel.

So basically, the hotel was fine - nothing outstanding - and a few rather greedy tactics definitely meant we wouldn't return there, or recommend it to friends.

we stayed at the grand par hotel july . The hotel and dubrovnik are great the only problem was the food "calfs liver and ox tounge " is not the nicest thing to be served everything is covered in a sauce so unless you like strange food stick to salad and chips!!!also be VERY carefull when paying for things as the croatians dont like to give you your change back!!!!

A lot of money has been spent refitting this hotel, and the general standard is impressive. However, the room cleaning could have been a lot better, as could the food, but it’s not 4 *. As the week progressed, the food did seem to improve from bland & unimaginative - but well cooked - to something more attractive. The cuisine of the region for the tourist is not great anyway. The pool area is very average, bordering on small for the size of the hotel. There is plenty of building work nearby, but that did not intrude. The local beach is small and crowded in high season and you have to pay for the sun beds owned by this hotel. Ok - that’s the negative stuff done. We had a good holiday! The bay is lovely with some nice walks. The room was well fitted out with free safe and mini bar at acceptable prices. Beds are very comfortable and clean. I would recommend rooms with a sea side view! Request a high floor for the best views. Feedback in the hotel visors book made frequent mention of lack of draw space, which is right, but not a deal breaker! Staff are friendly and helpful, but cleaners could do with a lesson in mopping floors and dusting bedrooms, but bathrooms were 100%. Conclusion – if you enjoy ordinary food book now, or maybe go up another star – and pay a lot more. Lovely countryside, and visit Dubrovnik Old Town by day and night – it’s a must!

This 4star hotel is in a very good location on a small bay with the old town just a 10 minute bus ride away. The rooms are a good size, and very clean, but there is a total lack of drawer space for folded clothes. Staff very friendly and helpful. Large pools both indoor and out. The food was adequate but could have been better. Weather was hot in late May with just a little rain on two occasions. The surronding countryside is lovely and unspoilt with the old town of Dubrovnik looking really splendid. Would recommend a walk round the city walls.

I have just returned from a week's stay in this hotel and found it satisfactory. We had no problems with the food, you should not expect fine dining from a half- board buffet. Had no problems with the food temperature. The wine was expensive so drank beer with our meal.Lapad peninsula was lovely for walking, and we often walked in to Dubrovnik which took about 45 minutes as we found bus 6 pretty busy. If you cross over the street from the bus stop it is a short walk down the hill to the very pleasant harbour.you can also take bus 4 once you have your bearings. try taking bus no10 or boat to Cavtat it was very peaceful. I did not use swimming pool but it seemed to fill up pretty quickly in the morning. We had packed lunch one day instead of dinner as we wanted to see Dubrovnik by night which was lovely and much quieter with no cruise ship crowds. Our weather was a bit temperamental but had more sun than rain.Lots of nice bars with comfy swing seats on the promenade by the hotel -great for people watching! All in all a very pleasant holiday.

The hotel is in a decent spot if you want to stay in the Lapad area with easy access to Dubrovnik by bus approx £1. The pebble beach is nearby with tired concrete bathing platforms and sunbeds for hire. The nearby promonade has a few tourist shops with a few places to eat and drink and people watch in the evenings. The hotel is recently refurbished and well kept. Rooms are modern but small with insufficient cupboards and shelves, you will need to leave some clothing in your suitcases. Rooms have a free of charge safe and a mini bar that is sealed and carries a warning implying that it should not be used for personal items. Balconies are tiny with a table and two chairs. Views from the main building's sea view rooms are very nice but beware of being put in a sea facing room that is lower than the 3rd floor because your view may be obscured by the restaraunt 's roof. The quality variety of the food in the restaraunt is poor and not 4 star. Presentation is a la school meals. We particulary disliked the fact that restaraunt staff who collected used dinner plates, dirty cutlery and waste food between courses, wheeled their uncovered trollies up to our table while we were still dining. Yuk, we've never experienced that before! The bar, lobby and outside seating was quite nice and well kept but the staff were not over pleasant apart from one guy who ran the pool bar. The pool area was ok but there were not enough sun beds for guests.
