Hotel in good area, our room was clean, staff were pleasant but not over friendly. Food choice was varied, apart from deserts. Big down side, over 750 rooms and only 30 sunbeds - which were all taken mysteriously by 7.00am everyday. Poolside cafe offered very little choice of snacks and no poolside service. Hotel lacked atmosophere. Evening entertainment in adjoining Taverna was not advertised, hence empty most evenings. Overall Dubrovnik was very expensive, fortunately not much to buy there!

We were disappointed with this hotel. Although the rooms were clean and the bathroom excellent, there were no drawers so we had to live out of suitcases for 2 weeks. Fortunately, we had paid extra for a sea view, otherwise we would have been overlooking the carpark.
The hotel states it caters for 500+ bed spaces. For this only 40 sunbeds were provided around the pool plus some deckchairs. Towels were also placed on the sunbeds from as early as 6.30 am so unless you were prepared to set the alarm and indulge in the fight for a sunbed, you had no change whatsover of sitting near the pool. We therefore ventured onto the beach only to find that although the sunbeds and chairs were marked "Grand Hotel Park", we had to pay approx £9 per day to use them.
The restaurant feels more like a canteen than a restaurant and the food, although plentiful was warm and not very appetising.
On the plus side the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I have recently returned from the Grand Hotel Park. The hotel was in a great location, the beach and local shops were no more than five minutes away as were local restaurants and bars. The Dubrovnik Old Town can be reached by bus 'number 6' within 10 minutes. The hotel was nice and clean and the rooms were nice, the staff were helpful. The breakfast was really good, fried food, cereals, croissants etc. We ate the dinner on the first night, it was OK, you're usual buffet style, every night after that we ate outside the hotel, not because the food in the hotel was particularly terrible but a large part of our holiday consisted of trying different foods in local restaurants - the restaurants were not expensive for food at all - perhaps £12.50 per head for 2 courses and a drink. If I went back to this hotel I would definately not go half board, I would go bed and breakfast.

Basically I would recommend this hotel, its close to the beach - although Copacapana beach is a lot better and worth a visit - watersports etc, local bars are a nice way to spend the evenings - although nightlife we found to be very quiet in and around Dubrovnik.

We stayed in this hotel at the beginning of June, and had a lovely week. Our room was on the 4th floor overlooking the sea and like many other reviews, found the lack of drawer space to be unreasonable, however the view made up for it! The beds were comfortable but the sheets were somewhat small and didn't fit the beds properly!! We had great weather and had several days around the pool area which was lovely. Although, I must stress that the sun loungers were extremely dangerous, so please be warned! Some people did put their towels on the beds early but we always found there to be beds available. The food was good, although we have had better, but we travel a lot and are happy to accept the rough with the smooth! The salad bar in the evening was delicious and the service was always good. The surrounding area is lovely and a visit to Dubrovinik is a must, so much to see and do. The no. 6 bus takes you right there. All in all we were very happy with the hotel, but there are probably a few things that don't warrant it to be a 4 star hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the break and would go back again, as didn't get to do everything in a week.

Hotel Grand park is generally a good hotel. The rooms are renovated and clean, the food is good, the beach is great.

The only down side might be that hotel is overpriced - but then most of the hotels in Dubrovnik are...

We spent a week at the hotel in mid June and thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it. All the boxes for a 4* hotel were ticked, we had a large front room, (paid a supplement which, on reflection, was not worth it unless rear or annexe rooms are inferior), on the 4th floor, (with a side balcony),and great views of the sea and offshore islands. It looked as though the room had been refurbished recently and we could not fault it. The comments about storage space are valid but we had a kingsize bed and a single bed which we used for our clothes.
The extensive grounds and outside faclities were great, particularly the large salt water pool. The very large buffet style restaurant serves a wide selection of food which was plentiful but lacked something. No prizes for Croatian food. We were there during the first week of the World Cup so there were TVs everywhere and a big screen as there were in all the nearby bars and restaurants situated in a very pleasant car free area adjacent to the hotel. The beach is a few minutes walk and is very disappointing, poor frontage and stones!
We visited nearby Dubrovnik using the local bus to the"Old Town" and walked the walls and the narrow streets which is highly recommended. Other the that we lazed around the pool in very warm sunshine.
We booked flights with jet2.com and accommodation with Thomsons who had the best rates. We booked return transfer with a local firm and the service was excellent, (Taxi & Transportation Service Dubrovnik).

We spent a very enjoyable week at this hotel in June. We arrived at the hotel at about midday but were not allowed to get our room key (along with the rest of the coach group) until 2.00. If we had known this before hand we could have planned to do something but as it was we just waited about on the terrace in the sunshine. The room was fine although as we had read there are no drawers so we had to leave some of our clothes in the suitcase. Really impressed with the shower - powerful and hot! There was a fridge but 'if we broke the seal the hotel would know it had been used'! The food at the hotel was generally fine. The breakfast in particular offered a very good choice of both hot and cold foods. Dinner was often not very hot but usually very tasty with three or four hot choices (always a fish couse). There was also a good selection of salads. Deserts were limited - synthetic, sweet cakes or strawberries and ice-cream. As the strawberries were delicious we told ourselves that this was the healthy option! After dinner there was not much to do at the hotel except sit in the bar. Prices were expensive! We had mixed weather so when it was nice we walked to a promenade of nearby bars and sat people watching. When it was cold and wet everyone seemed to be in the hotel and then there was not enough room in the lounge areas for everyone to sit.
We very much enjoyed walking about the area using the hotel as a base. There is lovely walk along the coast with some beautiful views of the sea. If you go all the way round you end up at the yacht club which is another lovely place to have a drink and sit and watch the world go by (It also has a toilet which might be welcome!) We bought bus tickets at the hotel shop and went into Dubrovnik for a day and enjoyed walking around the walls. We also went down the promenade and booked a minibus to take us to Mostar in Bosnia for the day - a great day out despite the downpour we had to suffer. On the way back our driver took us to a town where a cafe served us oysters - my first (and last) time! We did have one red hot day when the sun shone all day. We went to Cococabana Beach for the day where we rented beds and umbrellas and had a really lazy day. There were toilets and a restaurant/bar - all we could want. I did paddle in the sea but it was freezing and the pebbles are razor sharp. The hotel did have a pool but there were not many sunbeds and the water there was feezing too!. The one cold wet afternoon we had was spent in the hotel spa wandering from one room to another and being very lazy - there was only the four of us in there so we were very lucky. We did want a massage but that was fully booked - decide and book early if that is what you want. Because we walked at a leisurely pace and stopped at numerous bars we found there was plenty to do. We did not make time to visit the islands that lay offshsore but there are plenty of trips going to these. Would say go to this hotel if you want a good base to explore from. It is not what you would expect from a four star in the UK. Having said that the staff were very friendly and we had no real grumbles.
