“Fantastic hotel with superb staff!”
Reviewed 8 May 2012 via mobile

We stayed in this hotel for a week in april for our "Pre-honeymoon" and booked a package from the hotel called Romantic Getaway or something similar. A lot of extras were included like transfer from and to the airport with Mercedes Limo, room upgrade, spa treatments, inroom champagne breakfast, 5 course dinner etc. Therefore we really spent a lot of time in the hotel and used all facilities. Everything was just perfect! I love this hotel and the staff that really makes it a memorable stay. I have so much to say about this hotel and about all details that made this stay perfect, but then it wont be a surprise to experience for yourselfes. Only negatives to mention was the weather (which the hotel cannot be blamed for) and the small portions of salads in the restaurant, otherwise truely perfect! The hotel is pricey so save up or bring your big valet. We will come back soon again!!

The whole hotel still feels very new and luxurious. The views out over the bay are absolutely stunning - at least until a vast cruise ship arrives to block them... The hotel facilities are excellent - swimming pool, small gym, lovely lounge and bar areas and good free wi-fi. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the old town is a real treat. The venecian speedboat transfers into the old town are a stylish way to arrive and we were taken back to the airport in the hotel's own car. The staff are friendly and helpful. Small quibbles - there are no help-yourself items at breakfast which puts too much pressure on the small number of staff - at least leave a pot of coffee on the table so you're not reliant on someone bringing you constant refills of the small cups. We ate lunch and dinner at the hotel and both were better than we found in town, but it was relatively expensive and the fish was over-cooked on both occasions. The dribbly showers let down the otherwise luxurious feeling bathrooms (but a big thumbs-up for the Bulgari toiletries).

Dear guests,
thank you very much for your review. The view is definitely something special here, mornings overlooking Lokrum Island and the Old town are really something memorable. Shame is that cruise ships can ruin that idyl, and we are trying to do something with local authorities but unfortunately we can not do a lot about it. We really do hope with the new regulation there they will not be there . Thank you very much for your comments and suggestions about the breakfast, we have 5 to 8 waiters and really do hope that next time when you come you will have other feelings about the breakfast. As per the showers we will do our best to make it more adjustable for guests. Our goal is to have satisfied guests and keep high standards and quality constant.

With my best regards, Mirna Loncar Strazicic

We spent 3 nights here in April 2012, celebrating my husband's birthday. It was a fabulous place to stay - a truly excellent hotel, stylish modern design, stunningly located right on the coast, with an amazing view over the old town of Dubrovnik. The staff were fantastic - friendly and efficient, and really made us feel welcome, and the stay so special. The hotel is in a quiet location, but only about a 10 minute walk from the old town. One of the highlights of our stay was using the free boat transfer from the hotel to the Dubrovnik old port- what a classy way of travelling! The launch is a real thing of beauty - leather and polished wood. We also used the hotel's transfer service to the airport - again a lovely touch with a top of the range Mercedes. The smile of pleasure on my husband's face when he saw the car, was worth the cost alone!

We didn't use the spa facilities - we made the most of enjoying the fabulous weather outdoors. However we did use the pool, sauna and sunbathing terrace, all of which were great, and quiet. The pool directly overlooks the sea, and you can walk from the pool onto the terrace to catch the sun after a swim.

The bar areas, both indoor and outdoors, are again very stylish, and very relaxing. We ate in the restaurant one evening, and had a very good quality meal, very well presented, and with excellent and friendly service from our waiter.

This certainly isn't the cheapest place to stay, but if you are looking for something really special, this is a beautiful place to stay. My husband voted it the best hotel he's ever stayed in.

Beautiful modern hotel, set into the cliffs. Exceptionally friendly, welcoming staff.

Every room has a balcony and sea view and our bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in!

It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the old town if you feel energetic, but the hotel offer a free minibus shuttle (last collection at 11pm). There is an indoor pool and a seating area outside for the summer months. Apparently there is a small private beach although we didn't see this and couldn't work out where it was as it is rocky outside the hotel down to the sea.

The weather was a bit too cold when we visited to make use of the outdoor areas including bar (which I imagine would be fantastic in the summer). and so we made use of the spa instead which offers many different treatments - prices on par with the UK, a bit steeper than we had expected, but well worth it!

A beautiful hotel for a treat, we would recommend this for couples and not really for families with small children. We can't fault it!

Room Tip: All rooms have sea views and the bar closed at 11pm so noise was never an issue.

In October of last year my family and I visited the lovely town of Dubrovnik. We stayed at Villa Dubrovnik, which turned out to be one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever visited. The location was perfect and the service impeccable. It was a great combination of the old Mediterranean and modern comfort. The employees were very professional and friendly. I would definitely go back. My family and I loved it.

Villa Dubrovnik - were to start?
Is the most amazing top class hotel.
As you arrive to the modern lift set into the wall over looking the sea you wouldn't know there was even a hotel there, you disappear and come out to a cool glass walk way and past reception you can see out to the sea. We're led down another glass lift to our room. Which is magnificent I ran around it and jumped on the bed I was so excited. the view was incredible, you can brush your teeth in the bathroom and over look the sea.
They have bvlgari products in the bathroom. The comfiest bed ever.
My sister was in the room next door and they had a jacuzzi on their balcony.
As you wander around this hotel it's more like a work of art. The designs and refurbishments have been done increadabley well.
The swimming pool is great and you can get some goods excersize in it.
Then afterwards you can sit and chill out on the day beds.
I had a spa treatment over 3 hours and I came out feeling wonderful.
The only thing I would add is that I was wandering around half dressed in the communal area and then some men walked in they had told me to shower there after my treatment so that surprised me a little they should of let me know.
The lovely personal trainer does stretching down by the pool in the morning with guests. It was such a lovely thing to do over looking the ocean.
Dinner we all enjoyed it but they do have the ingredients of Italy with out the flair of the italian way of cooking to keep the dishes simplistic and use the ingredients well. They do tend to go for fusion cuisine, play around with combinations so this can either go very well or just a dudd dish as we encountered with room service which wasn't great at all. Which surprised us as breakfast in the hotel was excellent.
Our favourite was the rocket, smoked salmon, cream cheese and capers. It was so fresh and so tasty. I'd never tried this combination before for breakfast. It worked so well, the rocket tasted like it had been picked that morning.
Drinks on the roof top in the evening over looking the roof tops turn terracotta/ orange colour as the sun bounces off them.
The sun loungers by the ocean where such a treat, we got canoes out and took them down this whole stretch of coast line and did not see a better hotel.
There is a pretty beach perfect for swimming with a cool vibe if you come out of the hotel lift and turn right and slightly down the hill. The beach cafe serves lovely reasonably priced food.
The boat is like a limo into town really it even has the hotels name embezzled into the cream leather chairs. It's a very lovely way to arrive in town and everyone looks at you in the port. Then after dinner in town it's a 10 / 15 minute road straight back to the hotel if you fancy a stroll back.
You pay for it as its not cheap but I don't mind paying for it when it's top and this place blew me away.
