Just returned back from a wonderful 5 night trip to Villa Dubrovnik. Highlights and (very few) lowlights are below.

Highlights:
- New hotel, good facilities, clean and well looked after. Pretty gardens that have been recently landscaped
- Great location. 10-15 min walk downhill to the old town, or 5 mins in beautiful hotel boat (or shuttle bus if bad weather) which runs on the hour in the mornings, over lunch and late afternoon through to 10 or 11pm.
- Gorgeous views from roof top wine bar, rooms and pool. Very relaxing.
- Staff extremely helpful and provided us with numerous restaurant recommendations, tips for places to eat outside the old town etc
- Delicious cocktails, personal favourite was the grapefruit and mint mojito!
- Decent sized swimming pool (although a little confusing why they didnt build it longer to make it a proper lap pool as they have lots of space to)
- Good spa facilities (steam room + sauna)

Less good bits:
- Gym equipment new but cardio machines limited (1 bike, 1 treadmill & 1 cross trainer). Photo of gym is not real..the gym has less equipment and is indoors with no outside views. Absolutely fine for our needs, but surprising when we arrived!
- Would be great if hotel could add a lighter breakfast option for a lower price. Breakfast is 30 Euros if not included in room rate, which we couldnt justify given we were not very hungry in the mornings. On a positive note, great to see breakfast served until 11am.

Would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here only one night on our way from Italy (ferry from Bari) to Hvar and we so wish we could've stayed longer. The location is perfect, only a short walk from the Old City but far enough away that the tourist hoards aren't an annoyance (if walking isn't your thing, the hotel provides a boat or mini-van transfer directly to the main gate). Our room (an "Executive" king) was simply stunning - stylishly appointed and very crisp, modern and clean, with an unbelievable view of the sea and the Old Town in the distance. The service was very very professional and exceptionally warm and friendly (in a way that is often lacking at high end hotels). We were traveling with our five-year-old daughter and, while the hotel doesn't seem especially family oriented, everyone on staff was wonderful with her and made her (and, by extension, us) feel right at home. The food in the restaurant was truly excellent and the pool and seaside facilities were top notch. I was honestly surprised by this place given that it was really just a transit point for us. It's at the top of my list of places to return to for a longer stay. Can't recommend highly enough.

Great location 15 mins walk from city gate with fabulous views out towards the city and out to the sea and islands. Very funky, sleek and modern with lots of wood, glass and steel - think Philip Stark style. We had a deluxe room on the second floor which was large and very comfortable with great sea views. View to old city was blocked by the trees but very minor issue. We only ate at lunchtime but all the dishes we had were excellent and the beach restaurannt is in a stunning setting. There are beds down on rocky platforms by the sea which are reasonably private and they will always bring out more if they are all taken (which they weren't remotely close to being while we were there). All the staff looked cool but very smart and were extremely helpful and well informed. Had five nights and would have loved to stay ten! Not cheap in any respects (breakfast is really good but c £30 for two with service) but well worth it for a treat. Not ideal for young children - nothing to do, dangerous sea front, and just not the right ambience for little kids as very quiet and relaxed (there were only a couple there when we were there so wasn't an issue).

Room Tip: Try to get the wing nearest to the city and ideally the top floor (4th) for uninterrupted city and s...

I stayed here with my 18 year old daughter and small dog and all I can say is how amazing this place is! This experience was unforgettable. We also stayed at the Hilton Imperial which is 5 min. walk to the Old Town which was great, but I can assure anyone that stays at the Villa Dubrovnik will love the whole experience from start to finish. From the elevator entrance, to the hotel staff, to the lounge chairs overlooking the water that just waits for you to jump in, and you can't forget the private boat that takes you an only 10-15 min. ride to the old town which felt like James Bond picking you up. My daughter and I (can't forget doggy) felt like royalty with our stay at the Villa Dubrovnik and cannot wait to plan our next vacation here! We also enjoyed drinks overlooking the ocean at the restaurant and breakfast here to is a must! Can't wait to come back.

Room Tip: We stayed in the garden suit which included a jacuzzi on the terrace and all modern, beautiful decor...

Stayed for a weekend recently and absolutely loved it. The hotel is only a few years old and the staff are exceptional. The lunch on the terrace was wonderful and we dined one night in the hotel and weren't disappointed. Very very very nice 5 star with great food and service in a wonderful setting. We will definitely be back.

We have booked short stay at Villa Dubrovnik last october. The road to the hotel is very narrow and not well described, but this is the only think which is not perfect. As soon as we parked in front of the hotel, everything was perfect. Friendly porter took us to the lift which leads to the reception desk. He followed us to our room and explained everything about the room and hotel. The room was nicely decorated, modern with beautifull bathroom. The view from the balcony was amazing. We could adore the old part of Dubrovnik-Stradun directly from our hotel. We spend the day at the beach, the water was beautifull, clean and we could still swim in the sea. At the evening we took the advantage of free transportation with a beautifull boat to the town. We didnt decide for breakfast in the hotel, because it was not included in the price. Price for breakfast was too expensive 30 eur per person, maybe they shoud think about this price. But anyway highly recommend hotel Villa Dubrovnik,

Room Tip: In any case book see view room. The view from the balcony is worth some additional costs.

Spent 7 nights with the Mrs here for our honeymoon on 1st May. Initially booked our stay by reading all the excellent reviews and we were definitely not disappointed! From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed, the entire experience was simply amazing.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by someone at the door. Hotel was located on a cliff so all there was by the road was a door with a lift traveling down towards the lobby. Hotel had a modern design and architecture, which was refreshing compared to the medieval architecture of most hotels in Dubrovnik (and the city itself was full of history). The property was surprising peaceful and quiet, far enough from the Old Town not to be surrounded by the thousands of tourists but near enough to our convenience - it was a short 10 minute walk to the Ploce Gate of the Old Town.

The service was absolutely top class, from the reception to all the staff. We were taken for a tour around the property upon checking in. The rooms were very clean, full with Bvlgari toiletries and clean towels. The bed was really comfortable with a stunning sea view. The view was so good that we slept with our curtains and balcony door open. Housekeeping drops by twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening just to ensure that the room was tidy before we retired for the night.

Despite being a 10 minute walk away, the hotel generously provides a Venetian Boat shuttle - they have their very own jetty - it runs every morning hourly from 10am to 2pm (unless when the weather isn't suitable then it'll be replaced by the mini van shuttle instead). Definitely recommend the boat ride just to get a different view of the Old Town and for pictures as well. In the evenings, they provide a mini van shuttle, similarly running every hour from 6pm-11pm with an hours' break at 8pm, and only a short 5 minute drive away.

Overall we had a great time and will definitely remember the great experience we had at Villa Dubrovnik. We certainly hope to be back in the near future.

Special mention to Roberto, who attended to us in great detail from the moment we arrived until we left, never once forgot our names when he greeted us which made us feel very welcome.

Also to Ivan, who tirelessly drove the boat and occasionally the mini van to the Old Town. It was great having the various conversations about Dubrovnik, Croatia and the region (also the war) in general during our short trips to the town.
