“Nice Hotel with great staff”
Reviewed 7 May 2013

We stayed at Hotel Lapad for two nights. When we arrived, we immediately were upgraded to a sea view room. The room is decently sized and had a small balcony overlooking the port, which was very nice to sit in the early evenings.

We happened to be staying during my birthday, which the staff must have seen from my passport, and they brought up a lovely plate of fruit in the late morning. It was a nice extra touch, that really verified the quality of staff there.

There is parking right outside the hotel - not a lot, but we had a space, and it was free, unlike what I read online, which said parking was 8 euro a day. The pool looked nice, but we never went since the one day we thought about it, it was later in the afternoon and all the loungers were occupied.

The breakfast was good and had a plentiful selection. There are also some very nice restaurants nearby (we went to Otto Taverna, which was excellent).

Its about a 20-30 minute walk to the old town, or the bus stops right outside the hotel, and a taxi is about 6-12 euro, depending on which side of the old town you are coming from.

A beautiful hotel about 10 minutes by bus (no 6) to the old town, the bus stops right outside the hotel. This hotel lives up to it's 4 * rating. It's modern, beautiful setting, clean and the staff are excellent without exception. The buffet breakfast is great value and there is lots of choice.
A few minutes walk from the hotel there are numerous bars and restaurant's.
Can't fault this hotel or indeed Dubrovnik as a destination. Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: We stayed in a Classic room very comfortable, there are luxury rooms and suites if you want to spend...

Spent 2 nights at Hotel Lapad, Dubrovnik. I went there for business, booked a room throught one of the websites. When arrived, got a room upgrade, without asking - straight away. Nice touch. Staff at the reception desk was very efficient. Hotel was almost completely full, which was strange for this time of the year - but good for them! Now, what seems to me is that the hotel was full of guests whom came as organized groups. Quite frankly, if you come to Dubrovnik as a tourist - you can do better. Hotel is close to the sea, but you cannot swim or sunbath there. Also, if you wish to visit the old town, it takes some 25-30 min on foot, and even the bus station is some 10-12 minutes on foot from the hotel. So, locationwise - not the best option.
As for other things - the room was OK, free WiFi throughout the hotel, small (open) swimming pool...I ate only breakfast, and I managed to find some GREAT stuff, so I was pleased with that, too.
Altogether, nothing special, but quite decent hotel in Dubrovnik, with good value for money, but perhaps not the top location for tourists.

Myself and my partner visited Hotel Lapad in April 2012.
We found the staff to be attentive. The location was good; it is a little outside of Dubrovnik old town, but we walked in one day so it's not too far. The bus also departs nearby and drops you off outside the hotel on the way back, which is very convenient.
The rooms are spacious and very clean, with modern bathrooms. The breakfast was also diverse.
We found that, for the price, the hotel was excellent, and would definitely stay there again.

My Husband and I stayed for a week from the 21st to 28th of april at the Hotel Lapad. It is located in a nice quite location close to the old town. We stayed in a room with a sea and pool view the only down side was that there was no balcony. The room was very comfortable and spacious and the bathroom was big with two sinks and an amasing shower. It is the staff that makes the Hotel Lapad special they are superb efficent, helpful, and fiendly and this refers to all staff. The breakfast has a big selection of food. The bar is great for having a night cap and the cocktails are very good. We had a great stay at this hotel and would recommend it to anybody thinking of a trip to Dubrovnik.

We stayed here from 18 to 22 April and were extremely pleased with the hotel for the price that we paid.
We stayed in a sea-side view classic room on the fourth floor which, was well-decorated and appointed and, although compact, was very quiet. It included a small sofa. Our room didn't have an iron/ironing board or kettle/in-room tea-coffee making facilties (we understand this is becasue 'local regulations' prevent them from being put in rooms). Room service/cleaning was prompt, efficient and all staff were cheerful and always seemed pleased to help. Our air-conditioning worked well. One side of our bathroom had a glass wall - so a bit of a lack of privavcy, if you're sharing the room with someone you don't know well. Buffet breakfast in the conservatory restaurant offered a good choice of hot and cold foods. We were lucky enough to be given vouchers for one complementary evening buffet meal (good) and a welcome drink (juices or coffee). The walk to town is straightforward- uphill, mostly, and took us about half an hour each way. The number 6 bus runs from the old town every 15 minutes or so (until quite late) and stops right by the hotel. The swimming pool, at the front of the hotel, looked lovely but we never actually saw anyone use it. It's overlooked by a terrace where you can get drinks and leads into the hotel bar. one one side of the pool there's wall with archway-entrances leading to a garden area, with sun-loungers.

My wife and I returned from Hotel Lapad yesterday where we celebrated our 1st wedding Anniversary.
Our holiday was amazing and the superior double room at the hotel met all our expectations.
The hotel is located in a nice peaceful area away from the centre of town, but within around 30mins walk to the centre of town. We really enjoyed the walk into town most evenings along the harbour and across the tops of the coast with some amazing views.
The hotel staff were very friendly and were always on hand to help if needed. The hotel swimming pool was lovely and you even have a nice view whilst dipping in the pool of the harbor and the hilltops.
The breakfast was good with a nice variety and served up until 10:30am which meant we could enjoy some well needed rest after some tiring days and still make it down for breakfast.
Croatia is a fantastic holiday destination with very friendly people and Dubrovnik itself was a real treat. There is a great buzz around the town and plenty of nice places to stop to eat and have a beer whilst soaking up the atmosphere.
We did the city walls which gave some great views and also went up the cable car.
One added bonus was the Lapad beach which was only about 10mins walk from the hotel and this was a lovely small beach with clear blue sea.
We also found that there was a lovely walk from the hotel that led you around to several beaches along some footpaths with amaizing views and I would highly recommend this walk. Follow the sign posts after turning left out of the hotel and bear right around the harbour and this should put you on the right path.
The week we had at hotael Lapad was perfect for us, and we would love to return again sometime. We would struglgle to top this holiday, and we were very sad to leave!
Thanks to everyone at the hotel for making it so enjoyable.

Paul and Louise
