“Beautiful hotel by the quiet harbor”
Reviewed 2 September 2014

Pros:
• Spacious and comfortable room
• Located right by the bus stop to/from Old Town
• Excellent food
• Top-notch guest service

Cons:
• While the access to city bus is excellent, the hotel is definitely not close to Old Town. If you’re looking for a comparable upscale hotel that’s only a short walk from it, consider Hilton.

Stayed here with a buddy of mine for 3 nights in early August. When booking my Dubrovnik hotel, I had a difficult time choosing, but my gut was always telling me to select Hotel Lapad, and I am very happy I did.

Initially I was torn between staying close to old town or on the outskirts. To behonest, I visited old town for about half a day and that was plenty of time. The old town definitely caters to the tourist and cruise crowd, so I was happy to get away from that. The hotel was a bit of a walk to old town (about 25 minutes), but the bus was a 5 min walk and took under 10 minutes to get to old town. On the return trip, the bus drops you off right in front of the hotel. I weighed the other nearby hotels, but it seemed Hotel Lapad was the best location and best value. After traveling and seeing where some of the other locations were located, and knowing how much they cost, I made the correct decision.

For dining options, there is a restaurant onsite and the bar has a small menu, which you can enjoy outside, overlooking the pool. A breakfast buffet was included in the cost of the room, and had a good offering, definitely a plus when deciding to book here. If you wish to dine out of the hotel, there are a couple options right next door which are good (one has rooftop seating) and there is a pedestrain street with bars and restaurants, just 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

The hotel itself is nice, nothing extravagant, but very comfortable and relaxing The staff is wonderful, very helpful and always willing to provide you with assistance. The pool is at the front of the hotel, which I enjoyed as you could see the bay. If you want a lounge chair, be prepared to get there fairly early as it seems the pool crowd stays there the entire day. Good pool to get some sun, relax, watch the bay and people watch.

If you decide to do any of the island excursions, they leave right across from the hotel, so you can grab some breakfast and then just walk across the street. If you are coming into Dubrovnik on a ferry, you come into Lapad Bay, so you are just a 3 minute cab away.

One of my biggest complaints about the hotel was the weak wi-fi signal I received in my room. I didn't test the signal in the lobby, so I can not speak to how strong the signal is in other parts of the hotel.

All in all, I definitely do recommend Hotel Lapad for its location and value. If you are concerned about being a bit outside of old town, don't be. You will not regret.

our stay in the hotel Lapad was in late August of 2014.
have to say the hotel was superb in every way, booking in was simple, rooms were of a high standard, breakfast was excellent.
no complaints at all from me and i am quite choosy!!
breakfast was excellent, large selection of various cereals, meats, everything included in the hotel deal
wouldn't hesitate to recommend for a week stay, or like we did five days.
awesome

Room Tip: rooms facing port a little bit louder, ask for garden facing rooms in the new part of the hotel, the...

We stayed at this hotel for our 25th wedding anniversary. Had a lovely side view room overlooking Gruz harbour. Nice bathroom with excellent shower. Beds very comfortable. Lovely buffet breakfast. We stayed half board, but after four nights went out for meals. There is an excellent fish restaurant nearby. Reception staff - excellent. Bar staff excellent very attentive service. Restaurant staff - good. This hotel is on the outskirts of Dubrovnik in a lovely location. Excellent for booking boat trips to the islands. The pool is great, but you have to get down early to reserve a bed. We will return to the Lapad Hotel one day as we really enjoyed our holiday.

Room Tip: Choose one of the side sea view rooms on the third floor with a balcony overlooking Gruz harbour

I booked this hotel having spent hours looking at we sights and reading the reviews. It absolutely did not disappoint. The setting on the bay is glorious, and although it was a bus ride into the old town, that did not really matter. The rooms were very comfortable, and breakfast buffet good. My only criticism is that the evening buffet food was average, but then there are so many fabulous restaurants it did not really matter. The staff were very, very helpful

We are staying in this hotel for our honeymoon and overall a great standard but there are some small cleaning issues that would lift the bar . Mould in the shower and cup marks on the side table , small gripes but worth sorting out . The overall hotel is nice and the service is pleasant enough .

Stayed at the Lapad Hotel late July 2014. Definitely a good location from which to discover Dubrovnik and the beautiful surrounding countryside. Very clean rooms and public areas with welcoming and helpful staff. I went with my family on a B&B basis and found the breakfast wholly adequate, offering a good choice for all. Good walks and beaches are close by in the Lapad region and the no. 6 bus stops outside the hotel for a 15 minute journey to the old city which is charming in every respect. Views from the hotel include the busy harbour area and the cruise ship terminal just across the bay. The Lapad Hotel is worth consideration if one is looking for a quiet and well located base.

Room Tip: Look for a room with a sea view as high up as possible. Note that sea view rooms are located at the...
