Hotel Lapad is a luxurious and exclusive hotel located just outside of Dubrovnik old town. Apart from the top accommodation, you can enjoy Dubrovnik’s finest architecture, restaurants, cruising around islands. Hotel provides wonderful lodging and meals, and other services. Medieval European charm guarantees superb stay for travelers in that region. Making purchasing, sales, and reservations is efficient. Wonderful choice and excellent value for your money. Everyone in our group (16 persons) was happy to be staying at Hotel Lapad in Croatia.

Spent some time researching hotels in Dubrovnik for short term stay but also convenience for bus and ferry terminals and this met all the criteria. Friendly and helpful staff with excellent superior room in old part of hotel overlooking pool and harbour. Worth paying the extra. Very modernist and smart room with sitting room. Location excellent for buses and taxis into town but also to walk to terminals. Four restaurants and bars within easy walking distance and we (with hindsight) would have taken B&B option as dinner was ok but not brilliant. Hotel lobby/bar area is small so can see it getting cramped on bad weather days. Not sure about a whole week but two/three days as a base for a city break or en route to islands made the hotel an excellent choice for us!

This hotel is set up for package holidays - with factory-like breakfast and dinners and small, unromantic Travelodge like rooms. A couple of things to be aware of - the balcony sizes are generally tiny - ours was unable to fit more than one seat on it. The restaurant and bar was illuminated with bright fluorescent lights - with zero atmosphere.

If you think you are heading for the gastronomy, nice rooms and building on the website pictures you will be disappointed.

Best left to package holidays rather than opting to book this hotel as an independent.

This is a beautiful original building that has been extended to make it a far bigger hotel. We stayed in the old part of the hotel in a superior room on the top floor. Not only did our room overlook the pool, but we also woke up to lovely views of Gruz Harbour each day with a range of cruise ships in it. The room was finished to a high standard with an excellent bathroom. The only pity was that there wasn't a balcony to enjoy the view but this is true for all the rooms in the originial building. The pool area was lovely and certainly at the time of year we went, it was spacious enough for the guests likely to stay around it for very long. We found the staff to be very helpful. Breakfast and the lunches we ordered were good quality. We didn't choose to eat at the hotel in the evening as there were so many other lovely places to go, both in the old town and elsewhere. Our one suggestion for improvement would be the lighting both in the restaurant in the evening and the bar area outside, which are both just too bright and harsh. Just a few small candles on the tables and dimmer lights would make all the difference to the atmosphere. The hotel wasn't cheap but it was good value for money and we would definitely return.

We spent a week in the Hotel Lapad and couldn't fault the staff, cleanliness and food. But the rooms (including the bathrooms) are very small for a week's holiday, the balconies are tiny, and there is hardly any public sitting space so that on a (very) wet day people were crowding into the small bar area which is the only sitting area in the hotel. The pool is located right in front of the hotel, in a very public area and again very crowded and if you want to spend time by the pool you have to get up early to get a lounger. If you plan purely to use this hotel as a base for trips then it's fine but not for spending time lounging around the pool, in or around the hotel or on your balcony. But the staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them!

This hotel has some of the most modern bedrooms we have ever stayed in and they are kept very clean by the friendly staff. We did not find the glass doors to the bathrooms a big issue as there was a frosted dividing door separating the sleeping area and overall sleep quality was exceptional for such a big hotel.
Food was plentiful - a variety of veg and salad together with at least five meat/fish options each night plus all sorts of sweets including fruit so no excuses for any weight gain during our stay. Breakfast again had all you could wish for from continental to bacon and eggs.
The hotel's location was great for us, walking into the fantastic old town took about 45 mins and to the nearest beach was about 20 mins. The central 'promenade' was a delight with plenty of bars and places to eat and this was only 10 mins or so away from the hotel. I suppose however that this all added up to a lot of walking but there is a good local bus service and plenty of taxis if preferred.
We booked a side sea view and ended up on the 8th floor with good views of the harbour at Gruz and the cruise ships. However this is where you will find a downside with the hotel in that many of the balconies are far too small and as such can and are furnished with one chair - still you can take turns I suppose!
This brings me to the major issue I do have with the hotel in that there is simply not enough space. Other than the bar and bar terrace there is nowhere for guests to sit and relax inside and only 40 or so sunbeds around the small pool outside (about a one in four chance I think when the hotel is full). This lack of space is really evident on poor weather days.
Other than this, the hotel deserves the praise it gets from other reviewers and is a good choice for a stay in Dubrovnik.

Incredible service, spotless cleanliness, delicious food, evening entertainment...all this and more! We stayed 10 days and felt as though we were family the entire time. The staff in every department was courteous, professional, and eager to please. The rooms are ultra-modern even though the hotel itself was built in 1912. Our room had vessel bowl sinks, two marvelous showers, and wall panels from which everything was controlled. Our king size bed was huge and s-o-o comfortable. Draperies inside and shutters outside closed out all light making the room dark and quiet for sleeping.

The buffet breakfast served each morning is delightful, complete with all kinds of meats, eggs, vegetables, fruit, cheeses, breads, pancakes, cereals, yogurt, and more. Service is professional and attentive. Dinner (not included with our room) is available at a competitive price with outside restaurants, but was better than anything we found in any of the local restaurants.

The city bus stops right outside the hotel and tour boats and water taxis are also right outside. The location of the hotel is superb...far enough away from the crowds to be quiet, but convenient to all transportation to Old Town and the surrounding islands.

The bar/lounge has both inside and outside seating and is located adjacent to the pool. The dining area also overlooks the pool and the courtyard. A quick look at the hotel's website will have you convinced that Lapad should be your hotel of choice in Dubrovnik!
