“Worth a visit”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

It was worthwhile to see the architecture and the small museum however it was not a time consuming visit and tours go through it too.

“Nice but Packed with People”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

When the cruise ships disgorge the passengers this ancient monestary is right by the front gate and so they pour in here. Compare with the Dominican Monestary at the other end of the old city where I was the only visitor. Anyway a lovely cloister (medieval) and several display rooms of paintings and other religious items. There is an adjoining Baroque Church well worth seeing.

“Glaze Over”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

You can pay to go inside, but not worth it even though it is pretty cheap. Interesting but not a wow destination. Keep walking as there are plenty of other sites you will need to spend time to see in this area.

“Peaceful”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

Includes the oldest working pharmacy in Europe.

The beautiful cloisters & courtyard have good photo opportunities but do not take photo’s in the pharmacy.

Admission 30kn

“Pharmacy is disappointing”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

My friend and I are pharmacists and went to the monastery to see the oldest continuously working pharmacy in the world. The entry fee is only about $5USD but it's pretty lame inside. You can only take pictures in the cloister area and the history of the pharmacy is only one wall inside a small museum. There were no descriptions of anything and the only reason I recognized the objects was because I have visited the pharmacy museum in New Orleans. The best thing in the "museum" is the missile hole in the wall from the war of independence.
