Nadia's apartment is very cozy and fully equipped. Gorgeous views! Very well located in the area of Lapad a few meters from the bus stop and only 10 minutes from the old town. They welcomed us with a bottle of local wine and a box of chocolates. 100% recommended!!
Diana's apartment was brilliant. It is situated in Lapad, which makes for a great base a couple of miles from the beautiful city of Dubrovnik. The apartment is spacious and bright with everything you could need, plus the view to Gruz port and the hills beyond is stunning. There are lots of lovely cafes around as well as some good restaurants. The highlights of this location was the 6km loop walk around a small section of the breathtaking Adriatic coastline (which is accessible from the end of the promenade). Also the walk into the old town afforded incredible views as you drop down towards the old city. Diana was a wonderful host who was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful. I would not hesitate to book her lovely flat again. If you're looking for somewhere away from the crowds with easy access to the centre and also the opportunity to swim each day,Diana's place is it. Thank you Diana, we had an amazing holiday.
Cosy, clean, great location, wonderfull host.
Great view... :)
The large bedroom is fitted with a big and comfortable bed, the sitting-dining room is open plan with perfect view, incorporating a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, coffee plunger, oven, stove, toaster, and refrigerator.
See you next year :)
We booked five days’ stay and found the location quite good. We prefer to be a little bit removed from the busiest parts of town (sleep matters). One must be OK with going up a few flights of stairs and walking 5 minutes to the bus. Also, the second bedroom is on the apartment’s second floor (stairs are steeper than in USA, but probably no issue for anyone over 5 years old). That said, you’ll be rewarded with a bright, modern apartment that has terrific views of the daily cruise ship parade. Huge windows face Lapad Harbor. We bought groceries at the Tommy store down the hill and found the kitchen decently equipped for making breakfasts, cocktails and a simple dinner. If you don’t feel like taking a bus back to Old Town (10 mins or so, with buses running every 15 mins) to eat, there is a simple restaurant in the first floor of the building, and the nearby Lapad Promenade (5-10 mins walk) offers a wide selection of places to eat. If you walk to the end of the Promenade, you’ll find Lepad Beach, which is smallish, but surrounded by an enormous open space that looks rather like an abandoned Expo site. There are some upscale restaurants/bars, but locals take advantage of acres of paved space to let small children ride scooters, etc. There is also a little bit of children’s playground equipment down there. In late September/early October, it was virtually abandoned in the evening. Overall, we really liked the apartment and location and would gladly stay here again.
We were greeted at the airport by Maro, the owners son, who was really friendly and welcoming. He took us to the apartment where he explained the local area, gave us ideas on places of interest and places to eat. Diana, the owner, had left us fresh fruit, juices, milk, wine and chocolates, which was a really kind gesture and much appreciated. The apartment is spotless, lovely crisp white sheets and towels and as we were staying ten days the cleaner came mid week and changed sheets and towels. It is really well sited, close to supermarkets, bakery, restaurants, beaches and bus stop. We didn't have a hire car, but were not restricted in any way from seeing lots of interesting and beautiful sites in and around Dubrovnik. The views from the window are amazing, overlooking the port of Gruz. Sadly, it is our last day tomorrow and Diana has asked to join her for coffee. I know from her correspondence that we are going to meet a warm, friendly lady. We would not hesitate to recommend this apartment, snooze you lose!
We were a little apprehensive about booking this apartment as we had no idea what was what in Dubrovnik. This apartment is well located with a short stroll to a vast array of restaurants, bars and beaches. Bus into the old city was also less than five minutes down the road.
The apartment was spacious and clean and had all we needed for our five day stay. The owner let us put our bags in the apartment even though we were very early and she was cleaning after previous guests. To add to her problems an air conditioner had gone faulty and a repair man was needed before we could occupy the room.
The owner showed us the facilities within the apartment and gave us a welcome basket of fresh fruit and essentials.
We had great views of the sea inlet where all the passenger liners docked, different each day.
Under advice from the owner we visited Eden restaurant, WOW !! This was one of the best meals we have had during our holidays.
One piece of advice we would like to say to the owner is to install sun block curtains in the bedroom as the present nets did nothing to stop the early morning sun from awakening us really early. On holidays we like to sleep in.
I found this rental in TripAdvisor and booked in advance. Diana is very efficient in answering all my questions in every detail. The location is very good, the apartment is very clean, and is spacious for a 4-person family. The private parking is convenient for people who want to rent a car. Every thing needed for a short stay is provided. We really enjoyed our stay in Diana's apartment, and the opportunity to talk face to face. The owner is not only friendly but also considerate in every aspect. We will definitely select this rental next time when we visit Dubrovnik. By the way, we were glad to see the cruise ships easily from the dinning room almost every morning. Very nice owner and convenient surroundings.
