My mother and I stayed here for five nights after staying in Zagreb for two nights. Let me just say that this place was pretty much perfect. It was nicely decorated, very modern, and the bedrooms were simple but very nice. The kitchen is fully equipped and very user-friendly (even for Americans!). There is a nice TV in the living room with lots of channels and a DVD player. The balcony was amazing, and the view is priceless.
It is located a little outside the center of Dubrovnik, so it is not walking distance to the old town by any means, but the trip by car or bus is not very long. (About 15 minutes of beautiful scenery.) This may be a little inconvenient for some, but it was fine for us. The area was so quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. There is a pristine rocky beach just below the apartment, and two great restaurants.
One major point that made this place so great was the extremely accommodating hosts, Sonja and Michael. Ever since I first contacted them, they have been so attentive and helpful. They answered every one of my questions in detail, and kept in touch with me for months before the trip. Sonja and Michael were nice enough to pick us up from the airport for free even though it is about 20 or 30 minutes away. Our flight from Zagreb was at night, but they picked us up with all smiles and no complaints! They even went by the grocery store and picked up a couple things for us since it would be too late by the time we arrived. They drove us to the Old Town several times for a reasonable price (much cheaper than a taxi), and even took us to the fort above the city one time free of charge. It was so beautiful, and we would not have been able to see it otherwise. They provided us with a cell phone to call them when we needed them for anything, and to tell them when to pick us up when we were ready. They also always offered to stop by the store if we needed anything on the way back. Our flight back to Zagreb was at another inconvenient hour (VERY early in the morning), but they did not mind at all driving us back to the airport.
The only thing I would warn other travelers about is the slight trek up to the apartment. There is a steep hill and quite a few stairs. My mom had a little bit of trouble because of her asthma, but we got used to it. It did not bother me, but it may not be ideal for disabled or older travelers. But other than that, I would recommend this to anybody whole-heartedly. Sonja and Micheal, the beautiful view, and the general tranquility of the area make it worth being a little farther away from the Old Town. We had such a great time, and we want to thank our perfect hosts again for making it that much better!
