“A great beginning”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

We stayed here for two nights at the start of our Croatian holiday. The apartment was excellent value for money and all essential facilities were nearby. We only met Mr Mracic, an excellent host who was welcoming, helpful and very knowledgeable. We had no complaints of the facilities on offer. Very good local restaurants The Eden particularly.

Room was decent size. Bed comfortable, tv with domestic channels and satellite box for foreign ones. Table and two chairs. Wardrobe/cupboard, clean. Balcony larger than it seemed in pics with clothes drying line for swimsuits. Bathroom quite small but functioning, water pressure very good, quality great and hot water plentiful. BMI over 32 can have a hard time fitting to toilet sitting straight, thankfully still 28. Decor refreshing, calmer than in pics (violet room). Amazing view. Adjustable air conditioning, a quality unit. We got the airport transfers from the owner, who was fantastic all along. Got small treats like home made fruit liqueur and pancakes not to mention smiles and entertaining football banter (visited during world cup). Owner offers tours and transport with his car at competitive prices: 25e/ride to airport, 10e to harbour/bus station. Transport to Montenegro and likes were also a wee bit cheaper than similar trips in town. Short walk to Lapad beach and the promenade, even shorter to closest bus stop and a few restaurants on nearby street. Tommy hipermarket and adjoining small shopping centre can be seen from the balcony and is a 10minute walk away. Lobby has fridge, kitchenette and cutlery that can be used by guests. Main thing we will remember is that we felt welcome and cared for and now feel like this is a town and lodging we have to visit again.

Room Tip: Balcony room was great, well worth the room price.

A very enjoyable stay. Excellent value for money. The owners are very helpful and can pick you up from the airport for 25 euros. We were greeted with a home-made drink, and the owner made some local cake for us on another day. Also there was a lovely bunny in reception area. We had the purple room overlooking the bay, and the view was brilliant. The balcony is great for the early morning and evenings. The room is not big but the room and bathroom are very clean, and the owners extremely friendly.

Room Tip: The balcony over the bay was definitely good value for money

We stayed four nights at Cosmopolitan House in Dubrovnik. The relation with the owners was very friendly, with a welcome drink at the arriving, the facilities for parking the car were excellent, and the information gived to us about the country and the town was very concise. We will reccomend to our friends this place, as it was the best that we find in our stay in Croatia. We want to thank very kindly the Mracic family (the owners) for their help and their attitude with their guests!

Charming little b&b. We stayed from the 1st til the 7th of May. Although the rooms are a little small they are kept spotless. The family who run it are very helpful and polite. We had a room with a large roof terrace giving us some great views of Lapad bay.
My only complaint & it's a small one, when I asked for bacon & eggs as we had been served for our 1st breakfast, I got something else. On the plus side, the food served was always good.

Room Tip: Don't choose the standard double, it has no balcony or window with a view. It is also very very...

We stayed for several nights at this wonderful new property. The owner is extremely helpful, informative and very welcoming The room had a balcony overlooking Lapad below as well as the beach/bay. The room is bright and cheery with a spotless small bathroom. It had bed side tables, a table and chairs, a wardrobe as well as a flat screen tv. There is AC and free wifi with excellent connectivity.

There was free parking on site. If driving to this location, the GPS may lead you astray because it assumes it is possible to drive through a concrete wall as the lower streets are not connected to the upper streets on this hillside community. Instead, you have to drive around the hill and enter from the top. To get to the restaurants and beach, you can walk down (and back up) two sets of stairs (totalling about 175 steps). You can also catch a bus to old town at the end of "restaurant row".

As the other post noted, there is a shared kitchen but it would have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room so that you don't have to get dressed (after making yourself comfortable :)) to run up and down the stairs to get a cold drink.

We enjoyed a relaxing stay here!

Room Tip: Book the seaview room, well worth it.

My husband and I stayed at Cosmopolitan House recently on our first trip to Dubrovnik. We stayed with the family who own the house. They live on the ground floor of the property and rent out the 4 en-suite bedrooms as holiday lets. There is a shared kitchen and dining area if you want to prepare some meals for yourself, or the family will provide a delicious breakfast at an extra charge (pancakes were amazing!!). We had a very clean, comfortable room, with air conditioning and our own shower and toilet. We also had a very large balcony with table, chairs and sunbeds and a direct view over the incredibly beautiful Lapad Bay.
The family could not have been kinder or more helpful - they all spoke excellent English - we were picked up from the airport and delivered to the front door, where we were met with a jug of iced water and Cosmopolitan cocktails! They offered lots of local knowledge, such as where the best beaches were, good restaurants and which buses to use to get around. They would also arrange local excursions if you wished, at an extra charge. They were happy to answer any questions - just knock on their front door. All in all, a fabulous holiday with a truly lovely family.

Room Tip: If possible request a room at the front with a slightly better view of the bay - although we could s...
