“Amazing.”
Reviewed 4 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We've just returned from a stay at Villa Sun. A fabulous stay for 4 adults and 2 small children. Tonca and her family are lovely, friendly and very helpful. Picking us up from the airport and making us some lunch was above and beyond what we expected along with helping organise taxis and a rental car.
The accommodation is lovely, clean and spacious for 6 of us. Then pool and views superb. The villa is remote, a walk to Cavtat took an hour and Cilipi was two hours. We rented a car which was better value then taxis and we were able to visit Bosnia and Montenegro. Very close to the airport but we were not bothered by the planes and preferred having a 3 minute transfer. A great holiday that we didn't want to end.

“Best Villa yet”
Reviewed 10 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We arrived early to the Villa at around 9.15 am and we could drop our bags off before heading off to explore the local area. We met Tonca and family that were busily preparing the villa. Usual moving in time is 4 pm but she said she would text us when it was ready. Straight away we realised how friendly, customer service minded and hospitable she and her family were.
When we came back at around 3 pm it was all ready for us and what a superbly clean and fresh villa it was. Loads of space for our family of 5 including 3 adults and a 10 and 12 year old.
Tonca had laid out a welcome meal of local smoked ham and cheese bread and local wine it tasted superb and a lovely way to kick things off.

The BBQ and pool area were excellent again lots of space, sunbeds and very clean. The pool was used everyday especially as the heat increased.

I agree with the other review relating to the drops on two sides of the pool so young children must be supervised at all times however it would be difficult for them to climb over once in the pool it's more if they are playing around the pool but with the right precautions it is not a problem.

The Villa is very conveniently located just 5-10 minutes by car from the airport, 5 minutes by car to the local well stocked supermarket and 10 minutes by car to the fabulously beautiful Cavtat. At the back of the house you can walk to a lovely path that takes you either north to Cavtat (about 45 mins with our children) 30 if you are fit and enjoy power walking and the same distance south to the lovely little village of Cilipi. The walk is beautiful and highly recommended. Walking back from Caveat is more of a trek though as its all uphill back.

Even though Cavtat is the main local town with a large array of restaurants and bars the villages in the country side are quite magnificent. Picturesque very rural and some lovely little restaurants and local wines. The best restaurant Tonca recommended was called Monkavic http://www.konobavinica.com/index.php/en/. Family run beautiful setting next to the river, home made local foods, local wines and quite a bit cheaper than Cavtat. We loved it there especially with the table under the bridge.

For the five of us a typical meal in the evening which consisted of 5 starters 5 mains beer, soft drinks and wine cost in Cavtat around 1200 Kuna and at Monkavic 800 Kuna so quite a major difference.

Overall would highly recommend the Villa to anyone it was FAB

A fantastic location and lovely villa but what topped it for us was the pool!! Simply beautiful and plenty of sunbeds and parasols for chilling! The pool has just been put in and there is a rather large area on two sides with a significant drop to the orchard below so small children would need to be heavily supervised! My 10 yr old stuck to the rules of no climbing or sitting on those sides!! The barbecue area is fab and nicely shaded but watch out for the pesky gnats!! We all got bitten so repellent is a must!
The house is 2 levels but only top level is in use for now. Tonca and her husband are hoping to develop more soon. They are fantastic hosts abd provided us with a lovely lunch with wine upon arrival and looked after us throughout our stay. Always on hand if needed but not intrusive.
A car is essential although the airport is v nearby and also the supermarket. The village is quite a treck from Cavtat (nearest beach/town and port) where we spent most of our time. A very pretty port and lots to see and do. The beaches are rocky so beach shoes are a must but the free sunbeds are great and walk further around the peninsula and there is a larger beach with kayaks to rent (great fun!!). The boats moored at the port are amazing and the restaurants by the port are highly recommended! Especially Bugenvilla which is pricey but great for a taste of something special! The ice cream parlour nearest to the supermarket in Cavtat does the best ice creams at a very reasonable price!! Eating out can vary in price but the pizzeria around the other side of Cavtat the port called Kabalero is very reasonable! The local wine is fab and we didn't have a bad meal the entire holiday although the restaurants in Cavtat are far superior in quality and price to those in Dubrovnik old town!

I could write so much more but need to stop now or will turn into war and peace! I recommend this villa to families with children that are sensible and perhaps aged 10 up! Simply beautiful and will return for sure!
Thank you Tonca for an amazing and unforgettable holiday xx

Greeted by Tonca and Antonio at the airport and conveyed to the villa in the evening.
Evening meal with home made excellent white & red wines laid on for us. Home made cherry slices supplied during the week added to the excellence of the holiday. As previous reviewer states nothing was too much trouble for Tonca.
The car rental facility worked really well. Take the trouble to visit the restaurent recommended, it is well worth eating there.
All in all one of the best holidays we have had. Definitely one to return to in the future.

“Great palace!”

We rented the villa last August for 10 days. We had a wonderful stay. We arrived later then expected and our host, Tońca was waiting for us in the villa. She brought us keys, maps and towels. Once she was gone we realized that she had made a lunch for us and it was laid out on the table, and chilled wine in the fridge.

The villa is extremely clean and comfortable. There is a great terrace overlooking the garden, and a barbecue area with table and benches. The garden itself was full of fig trees and herbs. We mostly went to the beach or explored during the day so we stayed on the terrace in the evenings, enjoying good food, good wine and warm weather.

There is a small supermarket 5 minutes walk from the villa, or a two big ones about 15 minutes drive. A small historical town is located about 10 minutes driver from the villa. We went there to enjoy the beach, or for dinners. Dubrovnik is about 20-25 minutes away. The vila is also a great location to make a visit to neighboring Montenegro.

Our host, Tońca was wonderful. She brought us fresh fruit, changes of towel and sheets, and when we accidentally switched off the warm water system in the evening, she sent someone around the following morning, so the warm water was back before we got up. On the last day her husband came to pick up the keys and brought us traditional Croatian sweets. One of us had forgotten a shirt from the villa, and Tońca very kindly sent it to the UK by special delivery. She was always available and made sure that our visit was smooth and enjoyable. We would definitely go back there.

All in all, it was one of the best holidays in our lives!
