We loved this hotel. Beautiful newly decorated room and bathroom. Fantastic views from breakfast/dining room and terrace. Amazing views from the bar, swimming pool, sunbathing decks. Bus stop is right outside , arrives every 20 minutes and only takes about 10 minutes to old town where it drops you right at the Pile Gate entrance. Walkable to both Lapad beach area and also Gruz (the new) harbour, or under £10 for a taxi. It was great to be in a peaceful area with amazing views ,but still convenient to get to the old town and other areas. We had a problem with the first room they gave us as the view was blocked by the trees and I had already e-mailed them to ask for a room with an unrestricted view as the holiday was to celebrate both our wedding anniversary and my birthday whilst we were there. We were moved immediately when we pointed this out. Also, when the air conditioning leaked water it was fixed straight away. All of the staff were very friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here>It was perfect as far as we were concerned. As we overheard someone saying ' We are living the dream' when they saw the views. They were right, you cannot fail to be impressed.

Room Tip: Ask for an unrestricted view as there are some trees that would cause a problem for a number of room...

This was our first time in Croatia, our first stop was in Dubrovnik and we spent four nights at the Dubrovnik Palace, the hotel is very comfortable and modern, amenities are really nice, great pool, beautiful view of the Adriatic Sea from all rooms, excellent food at the restaurant and very relaxing atmosphere.
To go to the Old Town you can take a bus just across the street from the hotel, it stops every 20 min and it only takes 15 min to get there, you pay about 2 euros each way per person. We really enjoyed our stay, nice to be in a resort type of hotel but able to go and enjoy the old town every day.
The guests relations staff are really nice people, they can help you to find your way around the attractions in the area, make restaurant reservations and everything you may need, they helped us a lot! Only downside are the drinks at the bar they are overpriced and they only give you a very small amount for what you pay, order triples if you want to receive a decent drink...

i have stayed for 3 nights on a conference and all in all had a good experience. very clean, quiet, spacious and a helpful team. Great breakfast and nice restaurants overlooking the beach. the room itself is very basic if considering it is a 5 stars hotel. Only the basic toiletteries, no gowns, slippers or any other special attention as you would get in other luxorious 5 stars resorts. so in that respect it is too expensive and over charged. the balcony was strange: a long corridor-like structure with a limitted view that is overlooking the sea but between 2 high walls- not at all welcoming.

Room Tip: ask for higer floors to get the best views.

My girlfriend and I spent four romantic days at the hotel in May 2014. I'd like to highlight some of the reasons we had such a phenomenal time.

- The hotel rooms are immaculate, with outstanding views, superb facilities, an array of pools, jacuzzis, spa treatments and restaurants, a tennis court, and a very easy bus-service into town.

- The staff are excellent, responsive, friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much effort to make us feel like superstars.

- The breakfast buffet, overlooking the sea, has every last food you could imagine. Cereals, hot food, fruit, custom-omelettes from the on-site chef, pancakes, every type of bread you could ask for - it's just fantastic. I've probably put on 5kg in breakfasts!

- The double beds are massive. We'd been touring Slovenia and Croatia, staying in great hotels along the way. However, a few let downs at prior locations were that the double beds were in fact two singles slotted together. To our delight, the beds at Dubrovnik Palace were huge, not singles-put-together and comfortable.

- On one occasion, we went to the hotel's Ponta restaurant (the cheaper, snack, seaside lunch spot) and ordered the Quesadillas. These were not particularly good (lacking cheese, not really to standard), so we complained to the hotel reception. The hotel manager came out, said to us 'two things - firstly, you will not pay for this meal, secondly, on us, you will have a 5-star meal at our luxury restaurant'. We were then treated to a £200 meal, free of charge, including wine, scallops, brilliant staff and fine dining. A truly classy bit of hospitality.

I would highly, highly recommend this hotel to any couple or family visiting the area. A wonderful, romantic hotel in a beautiful city. 5 out of 5.

Room Tip: Balcony Sea View - that's the best!

We stayed at the Dubrovnik Palace for four nights during May. The hotel came highly recommended by friends. We subsequently found out that our friends had stayed here before the hotel was recently refurbished! If you like your hotel to be cold, clinical, minimalistic and souless then this is the place for you. Granted the views from the bar and reception desk are spectacular but thats as far as it goes.

We upgraded our room to a deluxe room, but we were foulish not to ask for a high floor as we were stuck at level 2 and had lovely views of trees. Our room was like a corridor, again souless, not one picture or plant in sight. Our balcony was like being in a cell, sided by two concrete walls over 7ft high. We had two plastic "bucket" chairs and a plastic table and again not one plant to be seen. I would have expected from a 5* establishment (especially in a deluxe room) to have at least sun loungers.

The turn down service was between 5.30 and 6.30 pm. Well this was the time we were getting ready to go out for the evening so we asked the maid if it was possible for her to return in an hour. She never did. On subsequent evenings, we had to display the do not disturb notice. I have never experienced such an early turn down service before.

We also like to enjoy a drink in the bar upon returning from an evening out and numerous times we found the bar either closing up or closed. This was around 11.50pm/12 midnight. Again, in other 5* hotels, the bar stays open to serve hotel guests to at least 1 am and sometimes beyond.

The location of the hotel was about 8 mins in a taxi to the Old Town. The bus service is fairly frequent around every 20 mins, but we did find it overcrowded at times so we preferred to take a taxi. The hotel is definately in the quiet area of Dubrovnik. The city itself is wonderful. But beware of the cruise ships coming into the port daily, as sometimes it can get unbearably crowded in the Old Town. Try to stay out of the town between 12 noon and 4 pm!

Unfortunately this was not the hotel for me and I certainly wont be returning.

Room Tip: A high room is a must otherwise you get a view of just trees

Dear Tripadvisor readers,

we have to inform you that this review is for the same reservation like the one posted two weeks ago "Just about the worst 5 star hotel I have ever stayed in" only this time posted under the different nickname. You can see that it is almost the same content of the review with the clear intention to make the damage to our hotel.

We hope you will make conclusions about our hotel after reading all the reviews in the last month or two. Thank you!

We loved this hotel and its location. After being in the town which was busy with people and noise it was a lovely retreat to come back to. With the easiest bus journey ever and every 20 mins. The buffet food was lovely, the main restaurant food was lovely and all of the staff were welcoming. The rooms were really nice and the cleaners were quiet when it was needed.
We only wished we were there longer.
So many restaurants, so much to do or not as the case maybe!

Room Tip: We did request for a sea view - we did view the sea, but had trees blocking the horizon. You really...

This hotel is ideal for you if you want to relax and have quite time. A bit far from the old town, but regular bus just outside the hotel.
The room is not 5* quality I would say. The wifi is very strong and is everywhere without password.

Room Tip: All rooms has a balcony.
