“Great Hotel Nice People”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

Just returned from a four day city escape.
What a great hotel, no football strips, no British Bulldogs, just nice folks talking some time out.
A special thanks to Hotel Director Damir Lukic who sent me a surprise Birthday Cake via room service. Nice touch.

Room Tip: All rooms have a magnificent sea view, go for floors 3,4&5

I love this hotel. The rooms all have balconies which face the sea and have a beautiful view, it's lovely and clean (although a bit on the small side), and I loved the chocolate left on our pillow every night.

The restaurants and breakfast are all fantastic, we loved the tavern maslina which the al fresco dining and again great view.

After reading other review of the drinks being pricey I actually think they are reasonably priced at around £7-£8 a cocktail. There's a bar in the outdoor pool so you can sip cocktails whilst sat in the pool :)

The reception staff and catering staff were lovely too, and the catering staff would come chat to us at breakfast, which was lovely!

There's also a scuba diving centre in the hotel which I also highly recommend. There's the number 4 bus right outside the hotel (and it comes every 15 minutes) which takes you directly to the old town.

I would recommend emailing in advance and asking for a higher up room, to get the best balcony view.

We spent four nights in this lovely hotel, arranged by our tour company to the Dalmatian coast. This is a modern hotel located on a cliff on the outskirts of the city with spectacular views of the Adriatic from every room. Our first day was spent recovering from our overseas journey to Croatia and we happily spent it enjoying the hotel facilities. The rooms are comfortable, each with a balcony overlooking the sea. We asked for a quiet room and were given a room on the 8th floor that was suitable. The room had all of the modern amenities. The only issue was the air conditioner as the temperature appeared to be centrally set, the thermostat being a sham. However, we were comfortable enough despite the very hot weather during our visit. I really enjoyed using the gym facilities that was well equipped with a huge window overlooking the sea- giving the feeling of being on a ship. The pools deck is pleasant and was never crowded. There were nice grounds and walks along the coastline nearby. The buffet breakfast was sumptuous and eating outside on the terrace (as always a view to the sea) was delightful. We had dinner at their restaurant (Maslina Tavern) the first night as it looked very appealing and romantic- which it was, and it was lovely watching the sunset over the Adriatic. However, the meal was very expensive and not worth the price. Despite being on the outskirts of the city a convenient bus can shuttle you back and forth from the old town to the hotel if you don't want the expense of a taxi. We were happy to stay in this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

This property is amazing, top to bottom. The renovation is immaculate! There are views from every window of the Elfanti Islands and surrounding areas. There is a rooftop restaurant and great indoor pool/spa/gym all over looking the water. The outdoor pool "beach" is great and surrounded by natural stone and built into the rocks. The bus to the old town is literally right outside and is the last stop on the bus so you can't miss it; plus you can buy tickets at the front desk that are cheaper than right on the bus.

The staff is very friendly and courteous, was always greeted with a smile and a "hello" or "good morning" whenever I passed by.

We stayed in a junior suite and the room was huge, great decor in a mid-century modern style - well built furniture and decor and large floor to ceiling windows. The large balcony over looking the sea and pool were insanely beautiful. Would highly recommend!!

I am currently staying at this hotel for two nights. I would say it is definitely not worth the money! I have been in Croatia now for two weeks. My first five nights was at the hotel Vilamar argosi(4 star). This is just as good and staff are far more friendly. I then travelled throughout Croatia.I thought I would spend the last two days in luxury. What a disappointment. Hotel is busy nowhere to sit around pool. Staff unfriendly and surly. Prices hiked nearly twice as expensive as anywhere I stayed. Nearly four pounds for a bottle of water. Rooms are nice which is a plus. Don't get a room on floor one as view is obstructed by garden. I would sum the hotel up as a place that lacks soul. Unlike the rest of Croatia which is a country that needs to be explored other than a hotel that's only purpose is to take your money. Maybe I have been spoilt by the kindness and friendship shown by ordinary Croatians and not those who are working for a big chain hotels . it is only my views but the hotel may have a five star rating but it lacks soul and class.

Dear Guest,

we are very sad to see that after few hours of your stay you were not satisfied with the hotel. Hotel is indeed busy as it is always in June and if you check-in after 2.00 p.m. it is not always possible to find sunlounger exactly around the pool as obviously most of the people are there from morning hours. However, there are plenty of loungers available on the areas beside on the beach area and above the pool.

Regarding the price of water you are mentioning we have to say that the large bottle of water is 2.9 GBP and it is not more expensive than in other similar hotels in this area.

We are sad that we didn't have the chance to talk to you upon your arrival. After we did try to talk on your check-out you just said everything is fine.

Once again we apologize for not being up to your expectations.

Damir Lukic

This is a lovely hotel, but my wife and I both felt it lacked any real heart and soul. We had a lovely room with great views, lovely bed and bathroom. Issues with the room---spoke to front desk three times about a faulty double socket on the dressing table, each time told it would be repaired, it never was, and we never received any feedback to say what was happening with it, just left to wonder would it ever be repaired?
Leaking waste pipe onto bathroom floor from basin. We had a cigarette butt for three days left in the middle of our balcony ( we don't smoke) cleaner did not remove it. We finally spoke to reception to get that sorted and a few small issues.
I felt the hotel needed some form of singer/band/artist. No one stayed in the hotel in the evenings it was like a ghost ship feel that something to watch/ listen to May address this.
Pool area to small, but great views and loads of towels for your use.
All in all a nice hotel a little far out but I come away feeling it could do better especially to justify a five star rating.

Stayed here for 9 nights in June with my girlfriend. As with what most people have said the hotel is of a really high standard. Room was excellent, spacious and clean. The view from the balcony was absolutely stunning. We was in room 808 on eighth floor and was above the trees and had a great view of sea and sunsets.

It was my girlfriends birthday whilst we were out there so I enquired whether I could organise something as a surprise. They organised for a cake to be delivered to the room free of charge which I thought was a really nice touch.

Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and variety and the service was excellent.

Pricing for bar drinks and food were what you'd expect for a 5* hotel. 27 Kuna for a bottle of local beer, approx £3. We didn't eat in hotel restaurant as we spent most nights in the Old Town.

The bus is the best option for getting to old town, would save a fortune on cabs.

Pool area is good, plenty of beds etc. The sea is a little difficult to get into as it's very rocky but once you get used to it, it gets easier.

Room service menu was adequate and available 24hrs.

Overall very nice hotel and enjoyed our stay. Hope this helps in future.
