We were in Dubrovnik for 10 days and went to the Troubadour Cafe 6 times.
Lovely place close to the Cathedral with great live music every night. Great atmosphere. Definitely recommended...

“Exploitation and a disservice to jazz”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

As a jazz lover I was determined to experience Dubrovnik's "Jazz" Cafe, despite warnings about the music. Arriving, we were welcomed by a performance that could only be described as a horrific amalgam of soppy geriatric elevator music and "smooth" pop.
No doubt the two musicians we witnessed were skilled in their art: playing the piano afterwards revealed that half the keys were broken, strings snapped, pedal destroyed.
More alarmingly, a friend ordered a "gin and tonic", to be charged for gin + tonic separately...later realizing that he had also been charged for the "top-shelf" liquor due to lack of the regular drink - despite a clearly full bottle displayed.
Fix the piano; focus the music; charge as advertised.

“Probably funnier than it's meant to be...”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Came here after dinner a few times during our visit to Dubrovnik. The ambiance is nice and the music good although not always strictly jazz- on our first night there they played Careless Whisper and Feel by Robbie Williams!? It can also be quite comical as when the singer chap isn't sure of the words he just sort of muddles his way through them. On one night the pianist managed to knock the pedal strut over and there was a good half hour break while they crawled around under the piano trying to fix it. But they are very good musicians and it was definitely entertaining!

We were told about this spot by our tour guide and went back two days later and had after dinner drinks while listening to jazz standards. Great atmosphere,a great time.
