Arrived at Dubrovnik on Thursday 25th Oct for a 2 week cruise across the med to Malaga. After dropping off hand luggage in cabin went into Dubrovnik for the afternoon. The weather was sunny. Have been here once before at the start of a cruise. On this occasion the old town was overcrowded with tours from the 6 cruise ships, 4 in port and 2 more of the coast opposite the old town harbour. Sat by the old harbour looking out to sea and looking back into the town. Walked back through the old town narrow streets to the Pile gate to get the bus back to the port.

Such a fabulous place of Dubrovnik, excellent architecture , great ambiance a total package , you never feel bore here, always busy from 8 am to 12 am midnight , lots of concert at night at the front of Pile Gate , riviera sight is just mesmerizing , view of Adriatic from top of the tower is scintillating. You have to come back again , no other option.

Dubrovnik's Old Town is a must see for anyone. You can spend hours walking around the gorgeous alleys and streets. The streets are of marble stone which can be slippery when wet but it is amazing to see. There are tons of beautiful churches to see and any Game of Thrones/Star Wars fans will love it no matter what.

We love Dubrovnic. It is beautiful and definitely the best looked after Town on this European Tour. It has been a while since we were last there and of course Game of Thrones is filmed there so lots of Game of Thrones tours. So many more tourists than ever before. Saunter through the quaint streets. Walk the walls, visit all the Churches, tag onto one of the many tour group talks and hear all about its history, or employ your own very knowledgeable guides. I believe there is a cable car there now but didn't see it. Lots of bars and restaurants to choose from, all lively. We were there on 1st November so everywhere you looked there were people buying and selling flowers to take to the local cemetery because November is the month of the dead in the Catholic Church.

This little town has so much to see and do, from exploring all the little alleys, to sitting down and have their famous beef pie with a drink to quench your thirst. Dont miss their pistachio ice cream. We arrived early morning and as such were able to explore comfortably however at around mid morning it started to get very crowded. For all Game of Thrones enthusiasts this place is a must. The city is breathtaking, be sure to walk the wall to see Dubrovnik from the top. It has several beautiful buildings, churches and a lot of museums

Dubrovnik's Old Town is not for those who cannot cope with crowds. It is on a par with Venice, but is similar as well, mainly in that if you walk through side streets -- especially those that run steeply uphill -- it is actually possible to find places that are not overrun. On the whole, however, prepare yourself for crowds and try your best to admire the beauty of the place. We were there in October and still the main entry gate required ropes and barriers to try to keep the flow of foot traffic manageable.

A beautiful place, always busy and always full of tourists!
There's such a lovely atmosphere though and the hustle and bustle is great, the town is sooo clean and there's lots of little bars and restaurants.

There is so much to see and do. We spent one day visiting Dubrovnik and after a couple of hours on the walls we had a lovely walk through the old city. We had visited before and there were many signs of the damage wrought on the city from the croatian war of independence in the early 90s with many roofs still with tarpaulin over them. On this visit the city looked pristine. Nearly every damaged building has been repaired but displaying in some instances a memorial photo of its damage. There are many beautiful churches to visit. There are many varied cafes to sit and enjoy a coffee or a meal. The shops are very interesting and there are quite a few with Game of Thrones memorabilia.

We visited this beautiful historic place twice in our visit to Dubrovnik. It truly is a worth visiting. Being a Game of Thrones fan it was great to walk the walks and see where certain scenes of the series were filmed. But apart from that it is a fantastic sight to visit. The architecture of these huge old churches and buildings are truly magnificent. Will recommend everyone visiting Dubrovnuk to stroll through time....

The area is truely lovely to see.
Sadly, most of the shops are of the American Strip mall variety with London prices.
View the attractions, see the harbour, buy a coffee and move on.

If you do find an interesting shop, please leave a review.

Do not eat at the resteraunts - the prices are unjustifiable. Take a taxi just a couple of miles and eat at resteraunt real people use. Less than half the price (including the taxi fare).

Very clean, except for the foul mounds of chewing gum stuck to everything.
