“Fantastic location, good rooms”
Reviewed 13 July 2010

Pluses: Located close to the gate to old town, nicely decorated rooms, professional and helpful staff, great air conditioning
Minuses: My room was right above the kitchen, and consequently there was noise from the kitchen starting at 6:30 AM: this problem would only affect a few rooms. The hotel plays the same background music continuously, and the repetitious music can get a bit annoying after a few days. The swimming pool did not look enticing, at least in the summer.

Just come back from a week in Dubrovnik and Spilt. Stayed at the Hilton Imperial for 3 nights in the annex buidling. We could not fault the hotel in any way. The location is excellent for exploring the city and the buidling itself is stunning. The rooms and service more than lived up to expections. I would highly reccomend this hotel for anyone visiting this beautiful city.

This Hilton far exceeded expectations. We were fortunate enough to have an executive room, which was very spacious. The bathroom was impeccable. While the city view from the room was nothing to write home about, it certainly was not a view of a nearby wall, as a few other reviewers reported. The location is incredible - a 100-meter walk to the Old City gate. The breakfast buffet, which was included with our room, was very good and fresh. We took in some World Cup action in the executive lounge, which has a narrow balcony that has a great view of the Old City and nearby fort, especially dramatic after sundown.
If you're not into the Rick Steves type of "roughing it" (I'm getting too old for surprises), this has to be the best place to stay in Dubrovnik. Rounding things out, the staff was incredibly attentive and helpful. We had originally booked one of the resort megahotels a lot farther out from the Old City, but jumped at a Hilton bed and breakfast promotion about a month before our trip. This turned out to be one of the best decisions we made on setting up the trip.

Great location, next to the old city wall and gate but when you are in the hotel it is a peaceful place away from the tourists.
Great service and what you expect from a 5 star with a little bit more on top.
Highly recommended.
(I work as an event manager and stayed here for part of my honeymoon so my review is based on comparing this hotel to a number of different 5 star hotels in the world, i often find Hilton's can be a bit hit and missed but this one certainly exceeded my expectations.

Wow, the Hilton Dubrovnik will go down as my all-time favorite places to stay. Not only because the city itself was amazing but the hotel was impeccably clean, well-maintained, and completely exceeded my expectations. The staff bent over backwards to make us feel at home (we stayed for two weeks) and were very courteous and friendly. By the time we left, I felt like we were leaving family. It helped that some of the staff were actually distant relatives and/or from the neighboring villages as my in-laws (we are americans with Croatian roots). The food was wonderful, the view was heaven, and the beds were surprisingly very comfortable. The only slight criticism that I have is that the pool was not kid-friendly. My kids (4&6 at the time) were a little too "exuberant" in the pool. I kept noticing people leaving, one by one :). Finally, a staff member told me that the kids needed to settle down. To me, pools are to get out some energy but apparently not there. Other than than, we had a great time. Very modern amenities. Even their fitness center has been redone and is really nice. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Very beautiful hotel. Everything that you need and even more. I had a chance to meet one of the managers and he explained to me that this hotel is one of the most beautiful in the chain. I saw other hotels in Dubrovnik but this one is definitely my favorite.

Stayed in the Hilton Imperial for 6 nights. Chose this hotel because of the location as we wanted to be near the town for drinks/dinner in the evening. This wasn't a beach holiday so didn't see the point in staying out of town.
We had an Exec.+ room which was fantastic. Large room with two sets of french doors leading onto a wide balcony with table and chairs. Glorious views across the bay, old town and fort. Could lie in bed and look at the view, awesome. Staff couldn't have been any more helpful, particularly the ladies in the Exec lounge who looked after us well and were a font of information regarding trips, buses, etc.

Dubrovnik isn't cheap. We had full use of the Exec lounge for breakfast, and a constant supply of nibbles, tea/coffee, wine, soft drinks and other alcohol in the evening. it was worth paying the extra for the room as i'm sure we saved a fortune on drinks and nibbles. Great balcony in the front of the hotel where you can sit and have a glass of wine before dinner.
Used the gym, pool and sauna which were fine, Didn't try the spa. Restaurant was nice, pricey, but so were most places. Food in Dubrovnik in general isn't great, but it's OK. Dominos in the old town do very good steaks and the ice cream is good anywhere.
Highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing break. I also managed to pick up the local Dubrovnik free wifi from our balcony - you have to pay for the hotel's wifi so that was a bit of result.
